Customer Questions & Answers

Will this spray the thicker solid stains?

Asked by: Chad
i don't think so. Seems to be only for the transparent stains. The solid stains are essentially a type of paint, so you would need a true paint sprayer for spraying the solid stains.

Which color cedar or cypress is better for a pine wood fence. The fence is fairly new. I purchased my house in January.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The product is good, but the wand for the pump... The product is good, but the wand for the pump sprayer isn't as advertised. I ordered 3 and they all came with plastic wands. The picture is very misleading.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Value Sprayer worked best with fine mist nossel. I shot a privacy fence and should have put drop clothe under as overspray & drips stained my cement. The installed product looked great on the fence.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from bad coverage area Well, I have a 12x12 deck, with the railing, and about 12 steps. it took 2 of these bad boys to cover it good ONCE! I didn't have to buy two more to have two coats so the color looks more even. I didn't even stain the underside of my deck to save on product. Only on the sides where it's visible. I think the color is way too red, and also now the surface of my deck is very smooth and feels slippery. I have to be super careful going down the steps now, because I don't want to wipe out! And... the nozzle sprayer doesn't spray a fine mist as shown in the video. It dispenses a large amount of product, which is why for the railing I actually applied it with a brush so I don't waste as much product. It does dry super fast!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks good, Hope it lasts Bought 6 of these and all 6 sprayers worked adequately, some better than others. Need to patiently adjust the nozzle (keep the nozzle pointing away from you!) to spray as fine of a mist as possible and expect to pump frequently and be attentive to turn off the plastic control valve if you stop to pump. It's not a finely calibrated instrument but is sufficient to do the job if you are careful. Also, after pumping, you lock the pump in place by turning slightly to the left, but if you turn too vigorously then the top will unscrew and spray all over. Be careful. I am very pleased with the color of the stain on my cedar fence with treated pine posts. Since you can spray faster than the wood can absorb the product it is better to spray a light coating that doesn't just drip to the ground which is a complete waste. A second coat was needed to get the consistency of the coat and color that I wanted, so the product does not cover as much area as claimed since you'll probably need to do it twice. Hence, be prepared to spend more $. Photos show the front portion of my fence compared with my neighbors on each side. I put another coat on after these photos. BTW... my fence looked just as gray as the neighbor in the first photo before having my fence pressure washed and putting on the Wood RX stain so the photos are equivalent to before & after. The second photo shows my fence compared to my other side neighbor after he washed his fence. Just did this a few weeks ago so the long-term durability and value is yet to be determined.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Looks good, but coverage area was poor I bought 2 jugs to stain/seal some new fence (pressure treated pine) I had built about a month ago. I found that I got about 240-250 sq ft per jug versus the claimed 400 sq ft. Maybe the rough fence boards soak up the stain at a much higher rate. The good new is that it looks good. The bad new is that I don't know if I can afford to stain/seal the rest of the fence.
