I installed this and it worked fine for the first 2 times I turned it on and off. Then it started leaking through the sillcock drain and will not stop. I don't know if the following info is relevant, but: It is on a home, tied into a 1" PEX line reduced to 1/2". It has good pressure and puts out at least 50% more water than the other outdoor faucets. Taking the hose off or leaving it on does not seem to matter. It was not over-tightened, but closing it tight does not stop the flow. Is there anything I can do to stop the leak?
Asked by: TM
There could be some "debris" in the faucet, not allowing the plunger to shut off. Or it could also be a bad plunger or a "cut" in the seal on the drain valve. Recommend taking faucet apart and flushing the line to see if that helps. If that doesn't work, call Woodford directly 800-621-6032 and they can send out a new plunger and drain valve.
