Product Overview

The Woodlink original patented 18 in. Wrap Around Squirrel Baffle prevents squirrels and small raccoons from raiding your bird feeders and scaring away birds. Perfect for yard hangers and poles already installed in the ground.

  • When the squirrel baffle is pole mounted, it creates a rounded wall that blocks the squirrel, raccoon or chipmunk from climbing up to the feeder, the wrap-around design allows you to attach this add-on without disassembling your bird feeder or bird pole
  • Textured black powder coated steel construction with steel coupler withstands the elements
  • Installs on any 1/2 in. to 1 3/8 in. diameter pole, for best results, mount at approximately 5' high, below the feeder or bird house
  • Included metal coupler clips easily around the pole and the baffle which also clips easily around the pole, rests on the coupler

This device seems a little high priced to me.

Asked by: Peewee
Not at all because it will definitely last, as opposed to the plastic alternatives.

I need one that will fit on a 3" pole, where can I get one?

Asked by: muldune
I'd attach a shepherd's hook to your existing pole, & connect your feeder to that with afoot of chain, & install this baffler above the feeder. Don't know of anyone that makes one of this with a 3" opening at the top.

i need one of these that will fit around a pine tree that is 48 inches round. do they make them?

Asked by: rob
For something like this you will have to make it yourself or go to a metal fabricator. If you are up to a HUGE challenge I would suggest to use 8" wide aluminum flashing as the flashing is easily bent and soft to drill. you will need some angle brackets, 6" most likely work. Decide on the angle you want (45 degrees) and then bend the brackets out so the brackets are on top of the brackets and clamp the metal to the bottom side and have a 1/4" gap to the tree. The easiest way to fasten the metal flashing to the brackets is with aluminum pop rivets. Or if you like you can use stainless steel nuts and bolts or tech screws if you can get them coated so as not to rust.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The birds and I love this baffle, the squirrels do not! Baffle works as intended...did the job and kept the squirrels from feeding from my upside down hanging bird suet feeder. Highly recommend! (I linked a vid of the baffle in action)

Squirrel had totally destroyed my bird feeder and while looking for a replacement, learned of this squirrel baffler and its great reviews so made the purchase. Was very pleased with the results Was easy to install. While watching the same day, squirrel (hope the same one that destroyed my previous feeder) tried to climb the pole but was completely stopped. While not exactly roaring in triumph as if I had WON a Major Battle or Championship, I hoped the squirrel learned he was fooling with the wrong household. The birds flapped their wings in thanks and approval. Birds have requested that they not be photographed due to the publicity it would caused but requested that I still be entered in the chance to win the $1,000.

It was a bit awkward trying to get the 2 edges to snap in the interlocking radius edges shown on the left here above. Mounted it on the chain that held the bird's suet cake feeder a few inches above that suet holder with a cross bar of hangar wire to keep the baffler high enough to let the birds get to the feeder while preventing the squirrel's access. Been working fine. It's doing what I wanted it to do. I was surprised that this metal unit was $30, while the plastic version was $12. But the plastic one had BAD write ups saying it broke shortly after installation, & would never buy one again, poor design of hooks through the top thats were NOT able to support the feeder below it. This metal one holding up fine.

Very sturdy and if my trees were not as close to my feeder as they are, it would do the trick. However one of our squirrels has had trapeze training and jumps onto the Shepard's hook from the tree and circumvents the baffle. The others are not as agile and the baffle keeps them away.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from BAFFLE NOT SLIPPERY ENOUGH We mounted the Baffle 5 ft high on pole but the squirrel was able to jump onto the baffle and not slide off!! So it is not doing what I intended it to do

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good baffle This squirrel baffle was easy to attach to our existing bird feeder pole. So far we have not had any issues with it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from worked fine once I had it at the right height and figured out hot to secure it to a 1/2" rod. it took a bit of engineering to find a clamp that would sit underneath the dome on a 1/2" square pole/rod/shepherd's crook, but once I did that, and had it at the optimal height, the squirrels are confounded! It is kind of amusing at times to watch them try (and fail) to reach the feeders.
