It would have helped if you explained how the hanging wire mounted into the bird house from the sides versus the use of a screw at the top going into a post. I will hang it in a tree next spring during the wren nesting season and hope for a family to make residence. I liked the feature of how it can be cleaned out each year with the hinged front door and securing clasp. The cedar smelled nice ! Made me wonder if wrens can smell !

This house appears to be well made, with the appropriate features of a good bird house. It has doors that open, floor openings for drainage, ventilation openings at the top of both sides, and is made of cedar. I do recommend the product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from House Wrens love it! Last year we had a pair of House Wrens successfully nest in a hole in the siding of our house. After the birds had left the nest we cleaned it out and repaired the hole. I bought this wren house in the fall and hung it in the same place that the hole in the siding had been using the predrilled hole on the top and a good sized wood screw. I am happy to report that this spring there is a pair of wrens (most likely the same ones as last year) nesting in the house. The only con is that you really can't check on the nest because of how the box opens. The front portion of the house swings up from the bottom so the top part of it goes into the house and disturbs the nest. Possible a better design would have been to have it swing down. It should be easy to clean out in the fall though.
