Answer:
It is a clock. I'm not sure what you are asking, but if you interrupt the power, the clock will stop and all your settings will be delayed as long as the power is off.

Answer:
Two wires as in early dimmers? NO this timer requires hot and neutral as inputs to the timer, The timer powers up the switch leg (red wire). Even back in the 20's the wiring had a "hot" and a neutral. Hopefully your switch box has both conductors in it.

Answer:
It has three wires but should work anyways because the third wire is a white neutral to run the clock motor and not a ground wire. There is no green ground wire on this unit to attach. ,

Answer:
I assume you want to either stop the clock from 5-12, or you want it to be on from 5-12. If you want to stop it from 5-12 just pull up all the segment pins from 5-12 and the time clock will shut off whatever you have it connected to for those 7 hours. If you want it to turn on from 5-12 just push down all the segment pins from 5-12 and the time clock will turn on whatever you have it connected to.

24-Hour In-Wall Mechanical Programmable Timer - White is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 38.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from POJ Let me preface this with the fact that I have done a ton of industrial machine wiring and a fair amount of home wiring. The timer is a poorly built product that should be avoided. After following the instructions it repeatedly tripped the breaker. 1 actually ordered 3 and gave up when the results were the same on the second one. Do your self a favor spend a little more and get a better one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for LED Bulbs REQUIRES a third wire feed, states in instructions. Wiring diagram could be clearer. I was able to configure with a little thought. This is the ONLY timer I could find anywhere for LED & CFL bulbs. Item available online only. Use a decorator rectangular opening switchplate, not included.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good quality Much better than the cheap ones they sell in the store. Bought one of those and it only lasted about 6 months. The Woods timer is a better built product, and also has "on, off, and timer " modes. The other only has "off & timer". Not sure why they don't carry this one in the store.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Time Clock I bought this time clock to cycle my cavitate. It works great and is way cheaper that the time clock that is attached to the motor. There are no sewer gasses fouling out this switch. I installed it in the house and it lets me cycle the motor in 30 minute segments. Great Buy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Old school but still reliable. This unit is not the latest in digital technology. It is easily programmable. I had installed a very technical digital timer for an elderly couple last year, it would do auto updates on time according to seasonal changes and automatically adjust for daylight savings time, however, it was also very complicated to do the initial program. It went out of service several times and family tried to reprogram it, it finally failed. So, I installed this old time timer for them and they are now very happy. As the days get shorter or longer they will have to readjust it but it is very easy to do. The unit controls there outside light that they want on after sundown until about 10 PM. If you want an easy adjust reliable timer, they don't come any more easy to understand than this one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to install, working well, hope it lasts longer than previous one I bought this item at HomeDepot.com. It replaced an identical unit that had failed after a few years. It's the only mechanical timer one I have ever found that has an easy-to-operate override switch to turn lights on/off manually without having t reprogram on/off times. Several digital models on the market also have that nice feature, but they are very difficult to program and are much more expensive (at least twice what this one costs). I wished this item was carried at the Home Depot stores. Before finding this item online I bought and installed another similar mechanical timer (only model in stock at Home Depot stores) that said on its label that it had a manual override switch, but I found out after installing it that it really does not have it, and it was about 50% more expensive than this one; I was glad I was able to return that one and get full credit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Installation tip This timer needs to be carefully mounted in face place completely centered without the slightest twist or tension, otherwise the mechanical dial can eventually rub and clock and switching not function correctly as temperature and humidity change. Pay attention to this or learn the hard way later.
