If the outlet is plugged in and controlling a lamp, you can still turn the lamp out with a wall switch. You will have to use the remote to turn it back on though.

I assume you mean through the switch on the device you plug into the remotely controlled unit. The answer is "partially." That is, if either the device's switch or the remote unit is "off" then the device will be off. You have to have BOTH the remote control AND the device switch turned on for the device to be on. This brings up another point: if you plug something like a modern TV into one, if you turn the TV off with the remote, the TV will "forget" that it was on, so when you turn the remote back on, the TV won't come on. This will be true with pretty much any device with an "electronic" power switch built in...most things that have a remote control of their own. It's also _probably_ true that if you plug one of the remotes into an outlet that's controlled by a wall switch, and you turn the wall switch off, the remote will revert to the "off" state when you turn the wall switch back on. I have a wall switch for this light. However, it is hard to get to. So, my question is, can I just leave that wall switch in the "on" position and operate the remote to turn the lights on and off. Can I just plug in a digital wireless in a power strip or a wall receptacle and control my chandelier lights on and off. thank you

That is, the chandelier is permanently wired into your house/apartment. These wireless remote units are used to control things that can be plugged into them - - that is, anything you'd normally plug into a wall outlet (at least anything that doesn't draw too much power...pretty much any floor lamp would be OK). Again, anything you want to control must plug into one of the three controlled units (and the controlled unit plugs into a wall outlet). Read Less

Answer:
Absolutely you can! I am running two floor lamps, which have switches that are difficult to get to because the lamps are behind furnishings. I am using these remotes to facilitate the on/off function, using them just the way you describe. An excellent choice!

Answer:
sorry., I don't know. I guess the best solution is to buy two and see if they do over lap. You would have to be controlling more than three outlets in each room before you would have a problem. Otherwise the range of the remote is sufficient to allow only one remote to control three outlets anywhere in your home.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Low quality I was very disappointed with this product. I purchased this set to replace a similar 3-module kit I bought almost two years ago. I was a little surprised that this was about 25% more expensive than the first kit I purchased, but I hoped it would be higher quality. That being said, the first kit was inexpensive and worked flawlessly for the time I owned it - great value. This kit is the opposite. One module did not even work. If the two that initially worked, one failed after week 2. Find another brand - this one is a horrible waste of money. August 23, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Plug-ins with remote control This device works great. The remote operates the on/off even though the outlet is behind furniture. Completely simplifies the process of turning on hard to reach items. June 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great for the woodshop I love these things in the workshop and in the house. I usually use them in the woodshop to remotely turn on the shop-vac-dust-collection system and various overhead lights. The reason I use these is because my saws (table, miter) are 15 amps so I need the lighting and shop vac plugged into a different circuit to avoid tripping the breaker. So these remotes come in handy and they even have 3 pronged plugs. These also work well in the house. We have a chorded lamp with an on/off switch that's not easy to get to. Now we can remotely turn it on/off. It's a breeze with these things. April 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works flawlessly I use it to turn on/off my security alarms. Works so well that I'm trying to come up with more uses for them. May 28, 2016
