after 30 years in the floor finishing trade I can heartily recommend this scraper!! a certain amount of technique must be learned in the use of a fine file in order to repeatedly sharpen the blade. One Significant drawback is soon observed when purchasing, in that, retailers are SELDOM found to be stocking replacement blades. DO NOT buy a scraper that does not Have the matching blades displayed nearby!!! and observe that it is only when using TWO of the four sides on the blade that it can scrape into a corner against a baseboard. This tool is the BEST when sharp!!!

I used this scraper to remove paint that did not come off after striping an old rocking chair. Grasping the handle and pulling it in a downward motion while keeping the head firmly against the wood/paint, quite easily removed the stubborn paint. The blade actually has 4 edges that can be used by removing one screw and then turning blade(s) until next one is positioned for use. After going through all 4 blades, I then re-sharpened them for more use. Very sturdy - got the job done for me!

I can't imagine what these other reviewers are talking about. I found this tool to be the best tool ever! After sanding down two old oak chairs, I purchased this scraper and not only did it cut the completion time by 75%, I no longer had to vacuum up all the saw dust. You do have to sharpen this every once in awhile, but way worth it!
I'm so glad I found this tool... it's excellent!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by frustratedwindowscraper I went through 2 and I'm still not done with the project
I scraped 2 window sills before the 1st one broke, exchanged it, and the 2nd one broke after using it 1 hour. I was not rough with it. I looked up the manufacturer and saw they are a low end producer. Why sell something like this? It was very frustrating to break it in the middle of a project. The blade dulled quickly. Definitely not a good product at all.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Lewis The only one that bites
Tried some other scrapers but this is the only one that could scrape aggressively enough. The difference might be the slightly curved edge of the blade. Granted I had to keep it sharp by using a blade file a couple times, but it might be a necessary trade-off.

Don't waste your money on this piece of junk! A $2 putty knife works much better, and will last longer. I am writing the manufacturer if Home Depot doesn't take it back.

Just scraped an entire bedroom floor with one blade. Used a fine file to resharpen. No dust like a sanding machine would make.
