If you buy, don't plan on applying much pressure to the tool. The second time I used it, the plastic holding the metal top on snapped, making it useless. To be clear, I wasn't exactly slamming it with a hammer, just pushing it against rubbery caulk, you know, trying to remove it.

If you do a lot of caulking, doors, windows, bathroom, you need this tool. It cuts out the old caulk faster than any other way I have seen!

Hello all, I am not one to leave reviews often, but this tool is SO worth the price that I had to leave a review. I was dreading redoing the caulk in my bathtub, but this tool helped remove the old caulk and I recaulked and got the whole project done in 1 hour. This caulk remover is worth the price as it saves a lot of headaches from removing caulk. I am so happy with this purchase, I will never do a caulk job again without it.

I was renovating a studio. The caulking around the sink & bathroom were moldy & hard. Along with a calking remover spray, I used this tool to remove the old caulking. It worked great. My friend who helping said she wanted just to have it. I highly recommend this product. I'm a beginning @ DIY projects.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by JamesScott40 Great tool if used properly
I bought this tool to take the place of the dreaded finger caulking. I used a silicone caulk in my newly tiled shower/bath stall and it did great. There is no need to push while using the rubber tool hard enough to pull the rubber off, which is what I think some of the other reviewers were doing and complaining about the rubber smoother falling off. I never had this trouble at all. Not sure how well it would do with other caulks like latex etc. but it worked great on silicone caulking and it looks real nice.
The scraper tool did just ok but I have other tools for removing old or previous caulked areas. I basically just loosened the caulk to then be pulled off.

Lasted about 5 minutes before the plastic which holds the metal blade broke off. Noticed afterwards that this item was "Made in China"....knowing that now, I'm actually surprised it lasted as long as it did. comes with a Forever Warranty but good luck trying to get reimbursed.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Tom3 Maybe for soft caulk Not so good for old hard caulk
I spotted this tool at a local Home Depot when I was picking up tubes of caulk to re-caulk my exterior windows. Was a little hesitant about the quality but thought I'd give it a shot. I first tried it out on some latex caulk around a window on the interior side just to see how well it worked. It seemed to do ok and I think it would do well with other soft caulks like silicone in the bathroom.
The latex caulk around the exterior of the window was much harder and it didn't do very well there. It broke before I even removed 2 feet of caulk. Had the weather been warmer or had I used a heat gun it might have gone better but I was able to remove the caulk with a utility knife and a putty knife without a problem.
The plastic that holds the metal blade to the tool is very thin and even when using it on softer caulk I don't see it holding up for too long. Should hold up pretty well for doing a tub suround though unless the caulk is very old.
