Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great light for the money, BUT! Here's a tip. I was given one of these but it would not work. The previous owner used it all day for days at a time to do body work. I opened up the enclosure and the clips that hold the light bulbs were fried. I found some replacements on the internet and have been using this light a lot. The 500W bulbs make way too much heat for these small enclosures. They will work for quite a while, but eventually the bulb contacts will fry. BUT just change the bulbs for 300W versions and I think they will last a long long time. The 300W bulbs are what most yard lights use in this size fixture. They are the same length. Don't touch the new bulbs with your hands when installing them, the oil from your skin will shorten bulb life. I'm going on a couple of years use now and no problems. Another tip, don't splash even a drop of water on the hot glass or it will crack. No, it wasn't me that did it! The best feature is the light base is stable, and it has lots of easy adjustments to point the lamps where you need them. The on off push buttons are a bit funky but they do work. March 14, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Sick of cheap shop lights I have gone through to harbor freight shop lights similar to this light. They both fell apart so I thought this light would be a little better. It feels more solid in construction but after about a year both contacts where the bulbs go have fried as other reviewers have noted. This means a bulb replacement will not fix it. The sockets where the bulbs go are completely destroyed. Trying to find a decent shop light that will actually last a while. You get what you pay for I guess. March 9, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great light for the money I bought this about a month ago and I am very happy for the money. Pretty sturdy and adjustable- agsing for $35! Very bright, I usually only use 1 light it's so bright. Yes it gets hot!, what do you expect from a Halogen bulb?? I was going to spend the same amount on a non adjustable model at Harbor Freight but glad I didn't. January 3, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by best bang for the buck good working unit does what its suppose to do. with all the complaints of getting hot it's 1000 watts all of them get hot. i find the light good, don't see uneveness, but then i'm not an artist i just need bright lights. the bulb last long so far hope you guys that complain of the bulb burning out read the instruction that said don't touch bulb with your bare hand, you know cause your hand has oil on it! Great light for 30 bucks October 8, 2011
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Value 1000 watts of light for $30. I feel the purchase was a good value. Yes the top of the stand is a little wobbly but not horrific, its a byproduct of the less than precision quick disconect feature. Yes they do get hot, but don't they all? These are working well for flooding my work area with light. Assembly was very easy. I like how they included a spare bulb and an attached holder for it. January 24, 2011
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Never Expected it to be THIS BAD A first class piece of junk. Looks like it was designed by a first year tech student. Poorly manufactured, cheap parts and fittings. DO NOT buy this as a gift. Buy only if you are in an emergency need of a work light. December 17, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exactly what I needed The work light was perfect for what I needed and at a great price. February 10, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bright lights for little $$ These lights are great... a lot of light...very versatile and less than $30...a deal. Like all halogens they do get hot so working in a small room can heat up but that is the only downside. December 16, 2010
