CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 3.3 out of 5 by 14 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great...It Is What It Is.... When I first saw the WORX trimmer advertised on TV, I thought "no way...I'm a two-cycle guy." And for heavy, brush-cutting jobs, I still AM a two (or four) cycle guy. But I used my wife's uncle's one day (he stayed up late one night and bought on a whim). His was the NiCd version, a little bulkier, but with the same cutting head (single line). I was blown away at the job it did... I went in expecting nothing, and it did his entire yard on one charge. With the double-helix line, it cut through regular "cool weather" grasses fine. So I went shopping. I ended up buying separate trimmer and blower packages (20v Lithium Ion), It works GREAT. Just remember, it may not replace your heavy-cutting two-cycle, 16" wide trimmer, but I use it in both Missouri (Fescue) and Florida (Bahia) grasses. I can do 1.5 yards on one charge easy (I have two batteries) and the blower is PLENTY to blow the grass off the drive, sidewalk, etc. WORX customer service is second to none...sending out a replacement battery without a core charge. Again, it may not replace your 16" double line grass trimmer if you're knocking down 12" high weeds, nor your 205mph gas blower to blow leaves (or snow) into a pile. But for general, routine lawn maintenance it's great for this "used to be gas-only powered" homeowner. I must admit..I thought the advertisements were a little overstated when I first saw the units on Saturday morning TV, but after using it, I fully recommend it. Now, for what I've learned after 1.5 years of using it. 1. It may be cheaper to buy TWO kits in the long run to get double batteries and double chargers....may be cheaper than buying only one extra battery. And WORX does offer reconditioned pricing as well. 2. Every time you let off the power trigger, the line automatically advances 1/4" or so. So for jobs closer together (sidewalk to the driveway, etc.), I keep the power going..wasting a LITTLE bit of battery. Otherwise, with the trimmer line advancing every single time you let off the trigger, you'll go through line much, much quicker. 3. I refill my own line. I've experimented with standard round .065 (works fine) as well as some of the "star" lines. Just don't throw your old spools away...refill them. I've found it much cheaper than paying shipping for the "lifetime replacement" line from WORX. Would I rebuy in a heartbeat? Sure would. I've sold two neighbors and my father-in-law on it. But remember, it "IS" what it is. And if you don't like it, take it back! But I'm sold on it. April 3, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by very good buy for the money spent... got this to replace my last (2) cordless trimmers. this was actually part of a package with a blower included. the package came with 2 batteries, the trimmer and blower. both are very lightweight, and one battery will do all the trimming i need around my 0.3 acre yard without slowing down. they charge very quickly, hold a charge so far, and have enough power for trimming grass without any problem. the adjustment of head angle, shaft length, and handle angle are fairly easy. the feeder on the line also works great. first trimmer i've had that actually did what it was supposed to! haven't needed to do any heavy-duty work, and don't plan on it. the blower isn't turbo (like my electric blower/vac), but does okay to clear loose grass clippings. it all works great for my needs. Rated 4 out of 5 by Fine for small to medium yards I have 1/4 acre and only need this for grass edging. The trimmer and battery work just fine for that; much better than the battery-powered handheld shears I had been using. Weight is less than a gas trimmer, and no small-engine maintenance. If you have a larger yard and/or need to control woody weeds, get a gas trimmer instead. July 11, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Very light duty work only. It's a pretty cool machine with some nice features but lacks power and battery run time. Battery runs about 20 minutes and takes three hours to charge. I will be buying another battery as soon as I can afford one. I can only recommend this item for light duty work. June 23, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Pleased With Its Performance Have used this for about 12 times already since October 2012 and so far have been happy with the way it performs on my lawn. Cuts the unwanted grass and weeds very well especially those on areas that is impossible to reach by a lawn mower such as walls, downspouts, mailbox and signpost bases and retaining walls. Its claimed Double-Helix nylon trimmer seems to do well in making a good cut on the grass. But the main feature that is well-liked about this product is its Edging capability. It makes a very nice vertical cut on my grass at the edge of the walkway which make a professional-looking appearance. The battery lasts more than my entire use on my 8,000 ft² area. On my last use for 2012 before winter set in, I forgot to charge the battery, and then used it right away on my first use this year. To my surprise, I finished my entire area without it dying down. So its claim of holding its charge seems to be true. Time will tell whether it will last for at least 5 years with moderate use on a typical mowing season (4-5 uses/month for 5 months). But this is the opportunity that this company should do well in finally making their brand on par with the rest of the established ones. I'm hopeful they will. April 23, 2013
