Answer:
Great question! The 48 volt and 20 volt batteries are not interchangeable. Their platforms work independently and are designed for each specific voltage.

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 35 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worked one day only The spool assembly came flying off the first day I used it. I was able to buy two replacement spools at $10.00 each and they both lasted one day. Since I bought it brand new I have never been able to finish trimming my small yard without it breaking. I have only used it three times and now it is junk. I'm waiting to hear back from manufacturer. July 23, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by love it - power without pulling a rope For a senior citizen who loves yardwork this is fantastic - all of the power I need with no hassle.Light weight and easy to handle. Only wish that replacement string were more available locally. May 5, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect Trimmer I bought this after the purchase of my first home. I debated on battery versus, electric, versus gas powered. The battery power on this is by far the most comparable to a gas trimmer. The electric ones, for my yard, do not seem to have enough power to do the job. This one does, and the battery last the whole time. I am also 6'-4" tall so to try and find a comfortable, adjustable trimmer was key. This product served all purposes. September 15, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by I just purchased this item as my 24V Edgeless Trimmer died. I wanted to replace this edger as I loved it!! It was so easy to use and the wheels made it easy to cut a nice sharp edge. But, the 24V has been discontinued and I'm stuck with 2 24V lithium batteries. The 48V is a good weed eater but i do not like it for cutting a nice edge. It's awkward, compared to the other, and without the wheel it is harder to guide and to cut an even edge. I would LOVE to have my 24V edger back. August 18, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great easy to handle Low to no vibration. Has good power and last about 1 hour on a charge. September 9, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by HARD WORKER Rcvd my purchase 2 weeks ago & used it briefly upon arrival (primarily to make sure it worked). Impressed. Yesterday put the trimmer to task & was pleasantly surprised at how well it did the job. I had been using a 120v 10amp trimmer which because of the size of my property required laying out 150ft of extension cord. The 120v trimmer replaced a 2cycl gas trimmer that broke down & would cost more to repair than it was worth. Using the Worx 48v trimmer I was able to get to locations that the 150ft cord couldn't reach. Heavy 8in grass & 3/8in weed stalks fell before the Worx onslaught with little difficulty. I was concerned about the working time of the battery but after about 40min of actual cutting time to complete the job there was still life left. Weight & balance made continuous use a lesser chore than any trimmer I have used in the past. The only reservation I have is the charging time, I would like a 1hr or less charger to get the tool ready for other tasks on the day I'm able to convince myself to get out & get work done. By far the most powerful trimmer I have used, equal to or exceeding my old gas trimmer. August 29, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Edger and trimmer in one Husband loves the edger, I used the trimmer. Go for both. August 17, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Powerful Cordless Trimmer Have only used this product a few times, so this review is for usage after having it for a month. Am very pleased with the power of this item and has held up well with all the trimming to be done in my yard. August 19, 2014
