Product is easy to put together and well priced. Bag holder not effective for paper mulch bags, better with large plastic or rigid sides. Leaves must be completely dry or they won't fall into the bags after cutting; instead creating a plug of cut leaves around the cutting line that stresses the motor.
I never realized how many small sticks get raked into my leaves. This shredder is not designed to cut small tree branch sticks and those have to be removed before insertion or the motor turned off and sticks removed. It slows things down.

Had leaves piled up from last year as well as the ones falling this year. My back hurt just thinking of the job ahead of me getting these leaves in the cans and compacting them down to dispose of them. I saw your product on the internet and thought why not, lets try it. WOW, your leaf mulcher does exactly what you said it would do and more. got the whole mess mulched and cleaned up in less than two hours. It would have taken me at least 4 hours putting them in the can and then it would have required several trips to the dump. Thanks for this wonderful, great, super product. You could not take it from me if you tried! I love it and highly recommend it. Thanks again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by LeafMulcher Does what it was designed to do
Read the instructions and know it's designed for mulching leaves - not sticks. It's easy to set up and works perfectly. Yes it takes more leaves when they are dry and the manual explains what to do if your leaves are wet. It will go through strings faster if you let sticks go in with the leaves. I think leaves that are raked into a pile are more problematic. Use a leaf blower to make a pile and you will have fewer sticks.
I filled two 8x4x2 raised beds for a veggie garden in 1.5 hrs. The leaves will settle and I will be adding more over time. I will also be mulching more leaves for flower beds and buying less landscaping mulch.
Yes you need to wear eye protection and a mask and should wear hearing protection. I prefer a mask with filters over a cheap dust mask for max protection.
I'm thrilled with the product and how easy it is to clean and store.

Purchased this to reduce the volume of leaves for transport to a recycle location. Unit performed terribly. The lines for shredding snap when the smallest twig enters the hopper. Also, it would have taken an eternity to shred a yard full of leaves. I will look for another method next year.

I saved a ton of money by using this product to chop up the zillion oak leaves and pine needles on the ground around my house and then I was actually able to spread the chopped up leaves around all of my planting beds as mulch. I am sure it will compost over the next year, but the $2,000 dollars I would have spent on mulch will be easily spent on more fun things!

If you couldn't tell, this is basically an inverted heavier-duty string trimmer in a plastic bowl. It reduces leaf volume about 80-90%, and the mulch you create can be used under shrubs or in your garden. It's one button, one speed. Key limitations:
1. The drier the leaves the better - it just pulverizes them.
2. The outlet holes in the bottom can get plugged, but you just turn it off, reach in and remove, and turn it back up.
3. Depending on how many sticks you accidentally put in the strings wear down quickly. They're easy to replace, but it takes a minute or two. It comes with about 20 pre-cut replacement strings, but you can buy trimmer line and cut your own.

Every Fall I fill bag after bag of leaves & the City hauls them away. With this machine I can turn the leaves into my own garden mulch. It does leaves - not sticks, so separating is important if you have that problem, but boy does it turn dry leaves into a nice mulch. It will do small amounts of damp material, but it tends to become a paste in the shoot, so wait & gather the dry stuff. It is a bit loud, but really no more than your standard leaf blower. Just don't expect this to be a chipper - thats another category all-together. I am thrilled with how it does for its intended purpose!

This is 3rd season using machine and really like it. I do use a slightly heavier gauge cutting wire in it so I don't have to change wire as often. One question is whether the worx vacuum product with the bag that goes over garbage cans could be adapted to feed the leaves into the shredder. This would eliminate hand feeding the leaves into the shredder. I have lots of leaves and could not get the cleanup done without this shredder.
