I need a battery and string for my WG150.2, where can I purchase these items? Now that they are discontinued.
Asked by: chevycory
Those 18 V NiCd batteries are not available for purchase through Home Depot. You can get them from the manufacturer directly or through another retailer.

Why is this trimmer discontinued?

I have seen infomercials about this trimmer. Why are they still selling it on tv, but it's discontinued at Home Depot? I would prefer buying it in the store.

Customer Reviews

GT 10 in. Cordless Trimmer/Edger-DISCONTINUED is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 30.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love my edger/trimmer I wanted to let everyone know how much I enjoy using my Worx trimmer. We own a gas powered trimmer that is heavy and I can't start by myself. Therefore no weedwacking got done all summer(3 men in the house)get the picture. So,I bought myself the Worx trimmer. It works great.I'm wacking down 3 foot high weeds. My only negative is that it only holds a charge for about 30 minutes.I'm going to purchase another battery so I can keep going.I would recommend this tool to anyone, especially women.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from relatively easy to use, no cord, no gasoline Although gas-powered trimmers get better reviews, I like not having to smell fumes, listen to a gas engine, and the trimmer does what it's supposed to.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from for people shorter than 6 ft The weight is ideal - very light and the power is more than sufficent - the power charge is good, keeping in mind you should only buy this if you have a small yard - or only need to trim around your mailbox, sidewalk and partial fence, ideal if you live in a condo - this is not they type of edger to purchase if you are taller then 6 foot. It is very light weight, so your wife or child can use it. The safety guide is a waste of plastic, it gets in the way and prevents your from actually edging close to fence lines, mailboxes, etc. Just remove it (or dont put it on in the first place) and it works great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very pleased I bought this trimmer because I also own the Worx GT 19" cordless mower (which I love). I am not disappointed with the trimmer. Since it takes 4 or 5 charges to reach the battery's full potential, I used it for "mowing" a small part of my yard, where landscaping makes using the mower difficult, in order to run down the battery, and was surprised how long it went with just the first charge. It weighs next to nothing and with telescoping shaft and adjustable head, it's perfect for a 57 year old woman like me.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Tumb down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The battery must be defective. After fallowing the booklet instructions to the letter in charging the battery at the breaking down pace, the unit stops working after 10 to 15 minutes for every charge. It is frustrating to have to keep charging the battery every 15 minutes. This alone makes me wonder if I should return the unit or try a new battery.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Piece of junk do not buy Does not work as adverised. Had for almost 2 years and has not stayed running on a charge for more than 15 min at a time. They advertise being able to go around football field two times on a charge. Company does not reply to complaints. Do not buy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not for me Like many of you, we've seen the commercials and the great advertised potential of this product. However, what is good for one definitely is not good for another. The string is too thin and flimsy, also, the wheels for edging do not roll well, if not at all. In regards to the power, it is not strong enough. We have an 1acre lot and bought mainly for keeping our flower beds well groomed and this trimmer could barely do the job. I will be taking it back to the store.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WORX GT150 trimmer/edger I love this item. It does a better job of edging than my previous two edgers, which were gas and electric powered. It is a workhorse when it comes to trimming. I love the fact that you don't have to change the string every time you turn around. A push of a button, and you have more string. I will, however, need to purchase an additional battery because my trimmer runs out of power before I finish all my trimming and edging.
