Customer Questions & Answers

How to make it reversible

Asked by: lo
Lo, to reverse your VWA214SB handle set, flip the lever's to the desired side of the door. When the metal spindle is installed into the handles, it will keep the handles in the desired position. If you need additional assistance, please contact us at www.Hampton.Care.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Purchase - Stay away from Wright Products! I bought two of these for the storm doors on my house. Both failed within a day of each other after having them on my doors for 6 months. I went back to Home Depot, and got both exchanged. One of the replacements was bad out of the box. Stay away from this product!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from They should change their name to "Wrong Products" This hardware is GARBAGE! It died in less than 6 months. The mechanism is made with cheap castings, the tolerances are so poor it doesn't completely retract like it should, and now it completely died. They make the handles nice and heavy to provide the ILLUSION that it's a quality piece of hardware, while in reality the springs inside aren't strong enough to hold the heavy handles up, so it has sagged since day one. I tried to just be tolerant and live with it, but now it's a function issue. Now I just hope that the boring pattern for this is standard, otherwise I'll be patching holes and repainting a VERY nice custom door. It only got one star because I wasn't allowed to select "0". Fortunately I installed this on my own home, had it been for a customer I would've lost a lot of time and money on the call-back.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible construction Installed one in a new door because it looked nice. The internal parts broke in two weeks. Returned and got another. This one lasted about a month before the internals broke again. Barrel inside cracks so latch won't disengage fully.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Only Screeen Door Handle I Could locate in bronze I purchased 3 of these screen door handles. Two were defective due to a manufacturing problem that resulted in paint overspray in the spindle hole of the handle which made assembly impossible without using an Exacto knife to scrap out the paint. The door handle has very poor instructions and lacks a locking mechanism. A model with a thumb latch is available, but only in a nickel finish. I had to call the manufacturer who acknowledged the defect and suggested the repair remedy. In the end I was able to get the handle to function, but it wasn't much fun getting there.
