I desperately wanted this to work but no such luck. The first one I tried, the motion sensor wouldn't work. The light simply came on at dusk and stayed on 'til the power ran out a few hours later. So I returned that one and ordered another. The second one wouldn't even charge, so back that one went as well.

I bought this as a security light. The motion sensor is usually pretty sensitive and lights up the area before you walk through it.
The two lights are very bright and can be aimed as needed.
I mounted the solar panel to the side of my house and even in the winter, it keeps the batteries charged. I am pleased with this light and bought a second one for a rental property.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rlatham FINALLY THEY GOT IT! SELF POWERED AND THE RIGHT ILLUMINATION!
Anyone who relied on, ‘motion sensor’ light and found it lacking will love this light. I’ve used ‘the old’ dual 150 watt incandescent spot lights. They had enough light, but only in two spots! (But those incandescent sure could spin the meter!) Then I went to the dual fluorescent ‘spot lights’ in both 21 and 14 watt ‘they could light the yard’, but never enough light to work under. These new LED spots do it all! Combined with the motion sensor they will work in your yard, storage area or driveway. Even better, I was able to remount this light system on my ‘toy trailer’. I found everyone, young or old, was able to use the light for fueling and even repairs. The color spectrum of these bulbs, allow for ‘full spectrum’ light, to identify problems or even wiring colors. These lights being self contained and having full spectrum bulbs are a real ‘home run’ whether you’re in your own yard or at your campsite and still getting those jobs done!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by RednexToyz Product Intent better than actual product
The goal and intent of the product is better than the actual product itself. Packaging of product was fair and the instructions are fairly simplified for ease of installation. Mounting hardware is included. Light head/sensor mounts with 2 screws in a "hanging" method much like a picture frame. Not really secure since it is just "hanging" on 2 screws rather than the screws mounting thru the fixture itself. The ease of light head adjustment and the flexability of the adjustment is great. This is somewhat shadowed by the fact that it is all made from plastic, not metal like most motion sensor lights. The output of the light heads is quite brite! Equal to a 60watt as they state on the package. No reason in my mind to doubt that. Sensor head adjustment is typical and again, made of plastic. The unit does not have a light "on" duration control or "sensativity" control. Factory set is all you get. The solar panel in small and fairly unobtrusive. Make of plastic and has 4 screw holes thru the bracket for mounting. I felt the assembly of the panel was very sloppy. Mine had adhesive/sealant smered at least 1/2" inward of the front cover onto the face of the solar panel. It's clear so you don't really see it but the assembly looks very sloppy. Overall, the performance is good but the materials and fit/finish seems poor for the price of the item. If you have an area with no access to power and need security lighting, this is a fair choice.

I bought this after returning a less expensive one with bad motion detector to my wholesale club (I was initially excited about the $50 price). This definitely appears well made and serves my intended purpose almost perfectly. I knew it didn't come with a sensitivity adjustment, but when it said "timer included" I thought the time would be adjustable (it is not). It's acceptable, but I would like it to stay on at least twice as long for the walk back to the house, as well as to get my attention that something triggered it to come on... I thought it came "uncharged" since it didn't work in test mode until I plugged in panel.
Afterwards, it continued to work even after unplugging solar panel. Either it charged quickly with indoor lighting, or just needed a "wake up" from solar panel... I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one. It's not boxed for store display, and not much documentation, but serves my needs at an affordable price.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Judson Good, but some room for improvement
I installed this light a few days ago, and so far it does what it should. The motion detector is sensitive enough to turn on as soon as I come around the corner of the house. The light it puts off is great for something its size - more than adequate for lighting the side of my house where I keep my recycling and trash bins. Mine actually came out of the box with a charge - something I was not expecting. I didn't want to mount my solar panel on the roof, so I chose to mount in on the side of my house, angled to get as much sun as possible from its vantage point. It definitely isn't getting a full 6-8 hours a day of sunlight, but I'm hoping for as little as it will be on at night that 3-4 hours will be a sufficient charge. Worst case scenario, I'll move it to the roof - it will be a 10-15 minute fix.
The installation was a breeze - 6 screws & you're done. With that said, I'm a little concerned it could blow off the house if a gust of wind hit it just right. The only thing holding the light itself on are 2 screws that slide into holes on the backside - much like you'd hang a plastic clock. It might hold up just fine, but like I said, I was surprised there wasn't something more substantial holding it in place, especially since it's almost entirely made out of plastic & as such, might not weather a fall well. If you live somewhere with high winds, I would consider rigging a restraint around the base of the light, just in case.
The solar panel is also largely plastic & it appeared that there was excess glue smeared around the edges of the plate. It doesn't seem to interfere with its performance and it's not like anybody will be up close to notice it once it's hung, but it does look a bit sloppy.
Bottom line: this is a great option for a self sustainable light. It's much more economical than having a hard wired light installed. It puts off a good bit of light & is ideal for my space. Providing the construction holds up, I won't hesitate to recommend it to friends and family & may even purchase one for the backyard.

I purchased this product a few weeks ago and installed it the same day. I needed a motion light where there is no power source .... plus I like the thought of using solar. Thus far, the light has worked flawlessly. Be aware that the emitted light is not a soft white light but rather "day" light.
