We replaced our electric lights with these solar lights that are larger than those I have used in the past and they fit on the posts. They are bright and love the option for low power that brighten when approached as they last longer this way - and that is important when I walk the dog late at night.

The light does not come with a pole. I had to buy a pole and cement it into the ground, that was actually not that hard. The product seems to be made sturdy. The construction seems to be some kind of metal maybe aluminum that is powder coated and the glass on the lens is fairly thick. When it arrived it was 100% assembled. Batteries seemed to be fully charged already. All I had to do was slide the base over the end of the pole and tighten 3 screws. The light has three modes, low, high and off. The motion sensor is only used in the low position. The light stays on in a dim state and when motion is detected it turns to the bright setting for 30 seconds, the manual says the batteries should last 18 hours in this mode. In the high position, the light stays on at maximum brightness regardless of any motion. The manual says 4 hours in this mode. It has two special lithium batteries inside of it. They are larger than double AA batteries so I am sure you would have to order replacements when they die. I have had this mounted outside for 4 days now and its been cloudy and cold and has yet to charge back up from when I received it. I left the light in the off position in hopes it would charge itself but nothing has happened yet. I called the tech support line and got through immediately. The tech said that it will not charge at all on cloudy days and needs direct sunlight. Its cold, cloudy and rainy here so I will just have to wait and see. I was hoping this light would work better than it does, I might end up changing it out some day for one that runs on electricity. I also wrote a similar review on the SPX212. It is the same light but wall mounted.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Thenuttyguy Looks great. Stays on all night in low mode.
The only issue I had was mounting it to my pole. I had an electric yard light and the top of that pole was smaller than the base of the light. The base of the light doesn't have any adjustment or offer longer set screws for a smaller base. I had to use a pipe fitting on the top of my pole. I was able to mount the light to that fitting. Some black spray paint and it looks like it came out of the box that way. Looks great and much cheaper that replacing my underground wiring that had gone bad.

Solar LED lamp lights up yard well, and especially when motion sensor brightens! Installed 8.5 feet
high on a 10-foot, 2.5-inch I/D electrical conduit pipe. Mounting bracket that's bolted to light is of very
thin aluminum, and broke off while attaching to pole. Re-attached using large washer.

I purchased 3 of these post lamps. I shopped for about one year before making this purchase. I was a little concerned regarding these gathering enough sunlight to charge if positioned in partial shade but they work fine. Keeping the setting at the low light position, with changing to bright upon motion sensing works just like stated. These were easy to install. After removing the old post lamp, this new one fits on the post and has three set screws to tighten it in place. I am satisfied with these lamps, and look forward to the savings on my electric bill each month. Please note that one of the three arrived with a crack in the glass globe, probably happening during shipping, but was immediately replaced. Excellent customer service from the folks at XEPA, the distributor.

Had a gas light that hadn't been used in years because I couldn't literally watch money burn. This light was an exact fit for the post and costs nothing to operate. Like the all aluminum housing and real glass lens. Inspect carefully when you take it out of the box as the packing material is inadequate (first light returned but second one survived). Throws a unique crackle appearance on the ground when lit.

This was a great solution for our old gas lamp. I was ready to have the pole dug out from our missing gas lamp. This was the perfect solution. Quick and easy to install and now it looks better than ever!
