In the energy saving mode it stays lit all night. It's a very and bluish LED light but it does have a presence. The motion sensor works well and when it turns on the "high" setting, the amount of light is substantial. Still, it's more decorative than functional (i.e. don't use it to perform open heart surgery). Installation was straight forward, though the set screws were so tightly engaged, it was difficult to loosen them without damaging the heads of the screws. Assuming the battery has a reasonable lifespan and and you don't need a parking lot floodlight, this is a great choice.

IT DOES NOT TURN ON QUICK ENOUGH (YOU HAVE TO WALK RIGHT UP TO THE LAMP POST IN ORDER FOR THE MOTION SENSOR TO TURN THE LIGHT ON) AND IF WE LEAVE IT IN THE ON POSITION, YOU ONLY GET 4 HOURS OF USE, I NEED AT LEAST 8-12 HOURS OF LIGHT. IT DOES NOT STAY ON THE WHOLE NIGHT AS NOTED IN THE DESCRIPTION. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT. I AM REQUESTING A REFUND OR THAT A BETTER REPLACEMENT PRODUCT BE SENT TO US AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE TO TRY. I HAVE AT LEAST THREE OTHER LAMP POST TOPS THAT NEED TO BE REPLACED AND NEED SOMETHING THAT WORKS BETTER AND LONGER.

The XEPA light was the brightest solar light we found for the price (around $100). It has a Low/Off/High switch and a motion sensor; when it is set on Low, the motion sensor will switch it to High for about 10 seconds when it detects motion. It generally stays on from deep dusk to dawn; once when we had 5 gray and rainy days in a row, it didn't stay on all the way to dawn. We've had it for about 2 months now. The styling is decent and it fit perfectly on our 3" pole. The only problem we had at all was that the set screws to hold it onto the pole were stuck when it arrived. We got one of them loose enough to back out, but not the other; luckily we had enough play to still mount it. For the price, we are very happy with the features and quality!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Driveway light Works great except that it doesn't stay lit for as many hours as advertised. I was hoping for it to stay lit throughout the night and it has only done it several times. Most mornings it is off when I wake up. Other than that issue great looking light that makes our driveway stand out.

The motion sensor was a to sensitive and would flick on to bright mode no matter how I turned the light. I fixed the problem with a little clear silicone. I walk by it and it turns bright so what else can I want.

On one point, the fixture is very nice looking and constructed. It has a nice transitional feel that works with a more contemporary house to a traditional house. It definitely works. I am not sure how long it last as I am asleep when it would go off. It does need sun during the day to charge though. We had a gloomy, rainy day and it did not go on that night. Not really the fixtures issue, but you should know that. We have it on the low consumption (not as bright until the motion sensor picks up something and then gets brighter). That function works really well. Also it has a nice bubbled glass that looks pretty good close up. But I guess my problem with the fixture is that is does not provide much usable light. I say 'usable' because it definitely gives off plenty of light. But the light pattern doesn't make much sense. The light source is at the top and shine down, then there is a mirrored ball at the bottom that reflects the light up. So there is definitely like that shines down, but it seems like it shines up too much? When I look at the neighbors lights, the whole fixture glows A LOT more. It is a line voltage fixture. So it lights up fine, but the area of the yard around the fixture is not lit up much? And it is not really a 'beacon' or anything when driving up because there is nothing really lighted that you can see? I have seen other models with a conical reflector in the middle which was ugly so I didn't get that one. But maybe those are better. So I would only suggest this fixture for areas where you do not have any chance of having line power. It is not a replacement for a post WITH line power. Unfortunately the moles must have gotten to the wires underground and that is why I used these. Anyway, not bad, but not great.
