Customer Questions & Answers

Can I install the lamp head onto an already existing 3 inch diameter post?

Can I install the lamp head onto an already existing 3 inch diameter post?
Asked by: Amadeus
Thank you for your question Amadeus. The top part underneath the lamp only measures 2 inches in diameter so it is doubtful that your 3 inch existing post will suffice. I have had mine in situ` for 5 years now and it still looks and operates perfectly. See photos I took of it a few minutes ago. I hope this assists you in answering your question.

What is the light distance the lamp gives off?

What is the light distance the lamp gives off?
Asked by: tj
I would compare this lamps illumination to an old style English street lamp. It throws light on the immediate surroundings of about a five foot circumference, albeit a smaller range that of a much taller street lamp. Depending on the amount of direct sunshine that it has had, it illuminates the small area which surrounds the base of the lamp and outwards which lasts most of the night. On dull rainy days it can last 4 to 5 hours Having had this solitary lamp now for about three years and lights up every night and has never failed. I hope that this assists you a little.

Timer Activated 12 hrs. 200 Lumen 42 in. Outdoor Black Solar LED Post Lamp is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well made fixture with good light output. I bought two of these to light up a path in my garden. This area receives a good amount of direct light, even in the winter (here in Texas). The light pattern from the crackled glass is mesmerizing. They are bright enough for the job. The item has two settings: a six-hour or twelve-hour illumination period. I've only had a chance to use the six-hour interval and it performs as described. On cloudier days it does not last six hours, so I don't know if it would actually go a whole twelve.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great outdoor lighting when no electricity available. The Xepa Timer Activated 12 hrs. 200 Lumen 42 in. Outdoor Black Solar LED Post Lamp is perfect for my backyard areas that do not have any electricity available nearby. I placed the short lamp post that came with the light assembly atop one of the short gateposts at my flower garden entrance. The charging sequence was only for about 6 hours and I was surprised by the more than sufficient amount of light that was provided. The lamp has a switch that allows it to operate for 6 hours or 12 hours continuously then go off. The lamp post and lamp look very nice and I think I will get more of them to illuminate the entire garden. This lamp is a great value and a wonderful addition to my backyard landscape.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent Post lamp I was pleasantly surprised after removing it from the box to see how well the appearance of the lamp post looked. The post is smooth rather than the rough texture I'd expected. The lamp, which simply screws onto the top of the post, is well made and attractive. It comes with expanding bolts to secure the base to the floor. I got this to use on my outside deck, which is not attached to the house and I really did not want to have to hard wire some lighting and have it looped over or under the deck. So I opted for the solar lamp in the hope that the Sun charged batteries last longer than one short season. Only time will tell me that. As I needed to bolt the base to the floor of the decking, I added another 1" foot square piece of wood to the underside of the floor and then drilled the holes required to hold the base of the lamp using the supplied bolts. I was a little apprehensive about the amount of Sun needed to charge it up as the decking faces West and to the South, there are large trees that blot the Sun out. But after 2 weeks of cloudy and wet days, the lamp still performs well, lighting up the area from 6pm and is still on at 4 AM, albeit at a much reduced rate of output, but enough to see what is on the decking. I am pleased with its looks and performance. It was easy to install and is strong enough to lean on without risking damage..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wireless Outdoor Lighting! This solar light is great for bringing light to your yard, deck, walkway or patio without having to have an electrician run the wiring. The light was easy to assemble, and provides a nice light without being too bright. There are 2 settings to control the amount of light, either bright or dim, and also an OFF setting. The glass of the globe has a crackle finish, which translates into a diffused lighting effect. With a charge in full bright sun, the light stayed on for about 11 hours on the dim setting, coming on at dusk due to a sensor. The throw on the light is about 10 feet from the lamp post. Mounting hardware was also included.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lighting is great! This solar post lamp looks and works great. Because we have very high winds, we did have to really set it in concrete more than they recommended, but it was worth it.
