I own three of these XEPA brand Solar Lamps and this is the only one I have with the timer feature, the rest run all night dusk to dawn. Like the others, construction is top notch. No pressed metal weakling with this post lamp.
The entire structure is thick cast aluminum over six feet tall. The lamp itself screws down around the top, the middle section screws together and you use three bolts to hold it all to the base. The wrench is included. No tools needed! It asssembles is about 15 minutes after unboxing. Only one person needed.
The light itself is very sturdy and also cast metal. The glass is real glass, no plastic to cloud up later. The glass in this particular lamp is a cracked glass pattern, they have the glass sealed between two pieces and it's cracked as if it's broken. The LED casts a very bright white light and because of the cracked pattern it's a very unique and pleasing look. About the equivalent of a 40-50watt bulb.
The base has three holes for the included mounting rods, which can be set in concrete or wood after drilling holes. Or, as with my installation in a large ten foot circular flower bed, you just use the 15 inch long galvanized lawn spikes sold at Home Depot and pound all three into the ground. Either way, you have a rock solid installation.
Once dark, you can set the timer to tell the light to stay on for 6 hours or 12 hours by flipping the switch. It will not stay on the entire night. Once the light comes on, it stays on for the time you set and then shuts off. It needs about six hours of direct sunlight to charge fully.
This light and it's timer is perfect for the flower bed that I only want to light part of the night, and not the entire night so that it doesn't attract too much attention. It would also be great for lighitng a deck area or patio/porch when you know people will be coming and going but then want it off after a certain time period.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by LosRubios Very easy product to assemble and install
We acquired this to add to our deck as a source of light in the summer evenings when we're sitting outside. Assembly was a breeze as all the parts except a wrench for the base mounting nuts are included in the package. I'd recommend a couple of small changes to the assembly order based on the experience of putting it together. Firstly I'd recommend winding the short hex headed bolts into the base bolt holes and then removing them again as the threads in the base were tight and one had some packing material in it. This quick trick made it much easier to attach the lower light pole to the base assembly as the threads were already loose. Secondly, I'd recommend attaching the upper light pole to the lamp assembly instead of attaching the lamp to the already assembled two part light pole. While the lamp post is very light weight, it was much easier to simply screw the upper and lower pole together at waist height rather than fiddle around trying to attach the lamp at a height of 5-6' off the ground, and there's less chance of breaking the light this way too if you drop it while trying to attach it to the assembled pole.
We found attaching the base to our wooden deck to be a simple task using the supplied bolts that fitted through the 1/4" deck plank gaps to avoid us having to drill any holes in the deck. You will either need an adjustable wrench or a 17mm metric wrench as the mounting nuts are metric sized.
The resulting job took one person (me) about 15 minutes from start to finish and is very sturdy and unlikely to sway in strong gusty winds.
We also liked the crackle finish to the glass which emits a very pleasing light pattern at night that is easy on the eye despite the solar style lamps. The solar panel is also a decent size which meant that it had charged enough to use despite being assembled and installed around 4pm in the afternoon.

This lamp post is a Home Depot secret! Works but solar onl and it cast an outstanding light on the ground at dark; very easy to install and perfect for every yard. Displays soft ambiant lighting. Beware ,this is not a street light rather a soft accent light. If you mount it on a 12'by12' cement square you can place it anywheres there is sunlight to charge it for the evening. I would suggest that you remove the top in bad weather as it went through a huge storm here and quarter size hail broke the globe. The top is sooo easy to remove, I could have taken it in but forgot about it with the storm approaching. Another lesson learned. It looks just like the picture. Customer service is awesome with this product. I had a little trouble getting my second light to work and they went out of their way to make me happy. I haven't found this to be true of other items that I have purchased on the internet. Overall a great purchase!

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Sandiegohaunted Great looking solar light option
The XEPA solar powered light is a great option for any yard. The unit measures 77 inches or roughly 61/2 feet tall which is a good size for most applications. The assembly is fast and easy. Some planning is required to determine where to place the unit, to receive at least 6 hours of direct sunlight. The unit requires a footing of several bolts in other words, the unit should be bolted to a solid surface such as cement.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by Bobby Great light post bad light
This light leaks water into glass every time it rains. Home Depot shipped me another light top and it leaked more than the first. They sent me a third and same problem. I bought a tube of silicone and sealed all 3 heads now no more leaks , but now the light only works when it wants to. I was gonna try changing the batteries but Home Depot doesn't sell them. They are like AA but twice as long. Now I'm gonna return it after 6 months of problems. Some people are happy with this item, I would not recommend it at all.
