Bought a few to continue our deer fernce for azaleas and other shrubs. In the past have used the smaller cross section posts since they are far easier to drive and less expensive. These are much more difficult, particularly in clay or rocky soil. Unfortunately, the quality has also declined from the original of a few years ago which apppeared to be higher carbon hard but ductle steel to what is probably reprocessed re rod. The biggest problem is that the punched projections used to hold the wire or netting in place break off very easily and are very brittle. I would prefer to return to the smaller section more ductle steel, but not available in stores. It appears the vendor has changed and price was the only consideration. The posts work and the price is attractive, but....

I ordered 4 posts and setup a pickup at my local Home Depot in Elgin, IL.
When I went to pick them up, I discovered all 4 were broken.
I did a refund immediately.

Rated 2 out of 5Â by HardArn Tough Enough?
Most likely would be okay in fine soil or sand, but not where ther are a fair amount of rocks. Ends smashed over easy when using hammer to pound in and fins broke off when encountering resistance. Also, bundle was bent in shipping.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by signer Fence post or a sign post...either!
Purchased this item to use as a sign post, and it worked perfectly for this, although I wish it was offered in an 8 or 9 foot length. It was extremely easy to drive in with the post driver.
