Answer:
No. The opening between the gate posts should be 48" (not from center to center of the posts) for the typical gate hardware to fit properly.

Answer:
Actual gate width is about 44 inches, leaving 2 inches on either side for hardware. That means that the inside distance between the terminal posts should be 48 inches. Play it safe.....mount all hardware to the gate (hinges and latch) beforehand and layout the terminal posts accordingly and check actual distances.

Is that square or round around the corners? First pictures shows square, but the others show rounded corners.

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.4 out of 5 by 19 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exactly what we needed I ordered 2 of these and picked them up at my local Home Depot. I bought them to replace one 3.5' walkthrough gate. The thing I liked most was these are actually a full 48" wide. Installing two of them together allowed plenty of room through which I can drive my John Deere tractor. Keep in mind, these do not come with any hardware so that, you will need to purchase separately. Also keep in mind these are pre-assembled so make sure they'll fit in your vehicle should you choose to pick them up. We are completely happy with our choice and would buy these again should the need ever arise. July 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to install - fits perfect Thought it would be difficult to install, but definitely not. Easily replaced the broken gate with this one. No issues. Great deal. September 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice gate for the money A very nice residential grade gate with decent quality and a great price. Light weight and installed easily. Delivery to store was on time and with no damage. Nice job, HD. August 17, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Gate Probably not home depot fault but top was bent and a cap was missing August 2, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Major Disappointment Arrived out of square, clips from the frame to the fabric were missing, and generally in bad shape. Very disappointed. I will go to a local supplier next time. July 10, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Gate Gate was gate missing some pieces you think they would check it when it comes into the store. Took the hardware I needed off the old gate June 28, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not the best Not the best gate. Frame is solid but the chain link was loose. Had to tighten the whole thing up before I could hang it. June 17, 2016
