Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by quick replacement mower Light weight mower, starts with one pull. Easy to assemble right out of the box. The catch bag tends to be a pain to use, gets hooked on the pull cord when taking it off. But overall good mower for the price. August 26, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DEFECTIVE I bought this mower on line after going to both the Oil City and Butler stores where they were supposedly were stocked after reading Consumer Reports best by recommendation. After traveling about 150 miles I came home and ordered one on line with free shipping. It was not damaged during shipping but was defective in that the right rear wheel could not turn because of a defect in the wheel height adjuster. After 4 Hours and 42 minutes on the phone and Home Depot trying to charge my credit card for a replacement MTD sent me to Bill's Small engine repair, the closest warranty center, that I have been waiting almost 3 weeks! Bought the mower on the 30th of May and yet to have use! June 23, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great equipment The equipment is easy to assemble, has a bag that is easy to pull and empty, great high wheels, and very inexpensive... Great for a small yard, but not for a large yard because it's not self-propelled machine May 27, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by OK but needs some tips for buyers This mower out of box is great for someone with little mechanical skill. Pull the cord and go. The biggest tip i can give is use high octane gas and clean the bottom frequently. Low octane gas in this mower will cause your easy to start mower to turn into a worthless piece of metal on wheels. I had to drain the fuel line and use engine starter directly on the carborator to get this mower running after a couple months in the garage. I used 92 octane in a can from my local hardware store, changed the spark plug for good measure and cleaned the bottom out thoroughly . My mower is running fine again Not a bad mower for the price, just treat it like a princess because it will certainly act like one if you don't. March 22, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 4 years with no oil or spark plug change and still running great I brought this lawn mower 4 years ago after i got tired of borrowing everyone else mower for my new home, honestly one of the best purchase items for my yard ever, I know it's not good and this was the first year 2014; I change my blade and service the mower but I have not done NOTHING to this thing for four years and it cranks on first pull and still cutting like a champ. You can waste your money on one of those big name mowers if you want but its not the mower that makes your yard looks great, it's the yearly process of maintaining the yard that makes it beautiful. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Garbage. Lasted 4 mowings Listen to the poor reviews! This mower was used less than two hours and no longer starts. I pushed it to the curb and put a "free mower" sign on it. It is now someone else's problem. You get what you pay for and there will never be another B&S product in our home. November 24, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Jury is out Mower was easy to assemble, with instructions on the box. Lots more plastic than my previous mowers. Said it's guaranteed to be a 1-2 pull start for 2 years. Already missed. 1st pull start on the on 1st use. Second time I wished to mow it took 5 pulls and puffed blue smoke. So far used it2 more times, started on 2-3 pull but each time I get a puff of smoke. Well constructed wheels and height adjustment feature. Mulches very good but motor seems to putter a bit especially when backing up. Not bad but the jury is still out as to if this mower will hold up. October 20, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A nice, easy starting mower Just used the mower for the first time (February) to pick up leaves in the yard, being disabled and with a bad knee this mower made it easy. Starts right up on the first pull and runs like a dream. The Bag is a little small, the leaves filled it right up, but grass clippings will be no problem with this size of bag. All I had to do to put it together was remove it from the box and unfold the handle, simple and easy. February 25, 2015
