21 in. 190 cc Gas Walk-Behind Lawn Mower is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 82.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from used for 2 seasons This mower has been great for the last two mowing seasons here in the northwest (april to october). My grass is thick and nearly always wet. The mower bogs sometimes, but really I am pushing the limits on what this machine is designed for. Always starts on the 2nd or 3rd pull. If you want a dead simple machine, no features, no choke, this is it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from When you get the right tool, the job is easy! Let me start with what I don't like since it is a short list. The height adjustment mechanisms are plastic. While they work very well, I would have liked to see something a little more heavy duty. Now, the stuff I like... It was very easy to assemble, took me about 10 minutes. I added oil and fuel and it started on the first pull! The height adjustments are easily made with one hand. They actually made it so one lever controls both back wheels equally and same for the front. Like I mentioned above, they are plastic. Since the mower is somewhat lightweight I don't foresee a huge issue. Speaking of lightweight, this mower is just that! With it's larger rear wheels, turning is a snap. The way the rear bag attaches, it doesn't drag along the ground like some other mowers. It is also easy to remove even when loaded with grass. They even thought to add a handle at the bottom making it real easy to shake it all out into the garbage can. My last mover didn't have this so I was pleasantly surprised. It seems to have a larger fuel tank that most other mowers too, The larger engine is very powerful. Tall thick grass doesn't slow it one bit. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase and feel this mower will be with me for years to come.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product for my requirements I wanted a push mower that can function as a "brush hog". This one does the job admirably. I threw away the bag, tied the side discharge cover open and attacked the brush, weeds, and grasses that try to overtake the outer areas of my Texas hill country property. The powerful B&S engine can handle most anything that you can throw at it. This mower replaced an older model with the same engine. I bent that mower's crankshaft on a cattleguard pipe and decided the most economical solution was to buy a new mower. I worry that this new mower has more plastic on the deck and wheel assemblies but we'll see how long it lasts. So far, it has proven itself to be a real "brush hog". It starts every time, no matter what.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to assemble. Would have liked to know how much oil to put in rather than doing a dip stick test!!! Great value!! Easy assembly...put in the oil (need ROM on how much??)...and pull the cable. Starts right up. Smooth running machine. Very easy to use! Definitely two thumbs up.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good push mower If you are looking for a no frills , powerful, reliable and light weight push mower this ones for you ! I was alittle worried about getting a non self propelled mower this time because I was used to my old propelled yardmachine mower for over 14 years. However, because this mower is light in weight its easy to cut the grass at your on pace. I'm a 50 year old male living in southern California and its almost a pleasure to cut my grass with this mower .The only thing I don't like is how the grass clippings get caught in the rear access door cup when you use the bag, but I can live with that. Oh , it starts easy too !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Lawn Mower far surpassed my expectations The Yard Machines push mower with it's 190cc Brigs and Stratton engine is a powerful and dependable piece of equipment. It's starts in easy one pull. Two, to fill the carburetor, if you have let the gas run out. It came 95% assembled. I still checked every bold and screw and found nothing loose. I assembled the other 5%, added oil, added gas, and was off and running. It has an easy height adjustment and the bag is easy to empty and re-install. I recommend putting only enough gas in the tank to mow your lawn and run the tank dry after every use because the alcohol in the fuel can cause problems and gum up the carburetor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Features are awesome Powerful machine. Has 6 levels of cutting positions with rear wheels larger than the front. Doesn't get stuck in high areas ! The mulching part is awesome it give back to my grass to help make it stronger or I have the option to bag the newly cut grass. Which I did for the first cut. But the second cut got all the mulch. Already see a nice lawn coming thru. Very pleased. Easy to put together too for a woman that has to rely on herself. Thanks again for a good product :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, simple mower. I read alot of reviews of this mower and others before I decided to buy it and I'd wager 90% of the running problems people complain about are related to stale ethanol-laced gas or lack of oil. Ethanol's biggest problem for small engines is that it is hygroscopic (it absorbs moisture from the atmosphere). Very bad. So first I'd like to impress upon anyone considering the purchase of any gas powered equipment that you absolutely MUST use an ethanol treatment/stabilizer if you intend to leave ANY unused fuel in the tank (or even your gas can) when you store the device for more than a week if you use gas with ethanol. Gas with Ethanol has only a 30 day shelf life. Gone are the days of buying a 5 gallon jug and using it for months in your lawn equipment. In my area I can easily get ethanol-free gas (100% gasoline) but that isn't always the case everywhere. It does cost a little more but if you can get it, use it (or treat your ethanol-added gas) if you don't you WILL wind up having to open up the fuel system to clean/repair and it won't be covered by the warranty. When you first bring this mower home you have to fill the oil reservoir with the oil included in the package. It's not super obvious, even in the instructions, but this mower is shipped to home depot without oil. Not pouring the entire container of oil in before starting will destroy the engine immediately. Okay - on to the review. I have a half acre, sloping lot on a mountain. A good number of trees, drainage swails, obstacles of all kinds, etc... At first I was simply going to buy a used riding mower but didn't want someone else's worn out problem. Looked at self propelled mowers including a fancy, self-propelled, key-start version of this mower (same 190cc B&S engine). I decided on this one because it had the largest engine and highest torque rating of any of the simple push mowers in my price range. Plus I like the large rear wheels for maneuverability. I had no problem pushing this thing up and down the hills and irregularities of my lot and even high weeds didn't stop it. I think the fact that it isn't self-propelled is really a plus in this kind of lot because you can pull the mower backwards without a fight. Only cons and the reasons I gave it 4 stars was that I wish It had a manual choke (to make it even simpler) and it has more plastic in structural areas than I'd like. Time will tell if the plastic will be a problem but this mower is so simple there isn't much to break.
