My 5' 6" 140 lb 75 year old can operate it. It has 6 forward and 2 reverse and an engine throttle control. Wheels are locked, for drive purposes, so sharp corners mar be a little difficult.

Hello. Unfortunately, there isn't a real way for me to judge based on height and weight, but it shouldn't be an issue. The handles may be a little higher on your body, but still operational. Thank you for your question.

Hello - We are not quite sure what you mean by easy to operate for a woman. The Yard Machine 26" Two-Stage Snow Thrower is self-propelled and has an electric start option which should make it easy for anyone to use. Thank you for your question.

The question really wasn't answered. I'll restate...does it come with the electric start cord? If not can I use a standard home extension cord (heavy duty of course)? HD doesn't have the part number you referred to, and I would rather not buy an overpriced cord if I can use a normal electrical extension cord.

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 50 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Better than Shoveling! After three days of shoveling our 36 inches and it hurting to just breathe, my wife bought me this blower. It was easy to work and my 12 year old daughter wanted to take it away from me and finish the job. Okay! With very little effort, we were clear. Easy to use and a dream to have. Definitely a great product! March 1, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great value for the price. This is a basic 2 stage machine. The quality is excellent. It is very simple to assemble; a 15 minute job if you pre-read the instructions. It does not have any extras (heated grips, headlight, etc.) but it is a workhorse. The electric start is a blessing. my 25 foot extension cord fit into the 3 prong male receptacle easily. The 26 inch width is a nice plus. This is my 3rd Yard Machine snow clearing device. The first was left in Wisconsin as part of a home sale. I still have the 2 stage. I have never been disappointed by their quality. DO THE MAINTENANCE, and FOLLOW THE FUEL INSTRUCTIONS for a happy long relationship with this machine. February 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome Snow Blower! I bought this snow blower after the 1/22/2016 blizzard here in PA. Came assembled and after the handle was folded down and chute removed it fit right into my girlfriends suv. Still takes some muscle controlling it but it is a monster (snow was heavy and crusted to be fair). Great build. Powder coat finish. you WILL need chains to get maximum traction but they're cheap. .Didn't use the electric start yet. Just don't over prime and use the choke and it will start with one pull. It actually makes you want to do your neighbors sidewalks because it's so effective. Very happy consumer. January 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice machine that works well. I was surprised at the ease of "assembly" being just to lift the handles into place and tighten the wing nuts and then a simple placement of the chute. The machine came ready to start when you put fresh fuel in it. I had no trouble going through 10" of wet heavy snow the day after delivery. Take your time getting accustomed to which gear works best when both moving the snow and then moving the machine back w/o moving snow (top gear is pretty fast) but reverse is so slow you may as well place it in neutral and pull it! So far I have no complaints and am happy with the machine and how well Home Depot treated me. December 26, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Machine Easy to operate and doesn't bog down. Plows right through the snow March 8, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wish I had bought one 10 years sooner, great product for the price. We have determined that a snow blower does a better job of clearing the yard than plowing. Here in Down East Maine we have had record snow falls this year. We have snow in some places over 6' deep. We were simply running out of room to plow the snow. I have used this snow blower to reclaim much of our yard. We can now turn around again. Seems it takes about the same amount of time to Snow Blow as it does to plow, but with better results. In truthfulness, I have used this for old snow falls, with much crusty snow and ice mix. It has done a great job. My only complaints to the manufacturer. Set up the snow chute turning worm reverse of what you have now, as it turns opposite of driving a car and therefore takes a second to remember the direction to get it right. Also, the chute should be taller, so as to get up and over large drifts, and one more tooth on each side, and it could be aimed slightly back and oftentimes more downwind. It seems to have great power but sometimes on long throws, wish it could be revved a tad more. Last complaint, reverse is too slow. We end up putting it in neutral and pulling it back by hand. We calculate it as 1/2 paid for in plowing savings in less than one months use. For the price, I can not complain too much. A great value for money spent. March 8, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bring on the snow! Love this snow blower! I recommend having this product delivered to your door. It is a bit too large for two people to easily load it into a pickup truck in the packing crate. It was very easy to assemble, and it is easy to operate. The snow blower has a pull-start and an electric start option, requiring an extension cord. It is self-propelled, allowing the user to expend less energy when doing larger snow removal jobs. This is almost too big for snows less than 3 inches. January 21, 2016
