Answer:
Yardistry Support is almost correct. At its base, the outside corners of this pergola are about 123 inches apart (inclusive of the trim around the bottom). You could screw it down to a 10 foot by 10 foot patio or deck, for example, if you have clearance at the top for the additional foot of overhanging trellis (or decorative beam ends, depending on which side we're talking about), your "12 x 12" pergola Read More

You could screw it down to a 10 foot by 10 foot patio or deck, for example, if you have clearance at the top for the additional foot of overhanging trellis (or decorative beam ends, depending on which side we're talking about), your "12 x 12" pergola will fit nicely in a roughly 10x10 space.
Personally I find that a bit of a rip-off, but if I only had a slightly-bigger-than 10x10 space, it'd be a plan.
You can easily cut off bits at the top if your deck is right up against your house, or something. If you need it to be dead-on 10x10 at the base, there's some trim you could leave off.
Beware, however, of what you're getting into. There are over 900 parts. Buy an impact driver, if you don't have one. Read Less

Hello Butch,
The base of this pergola measures 10' x 10'. If you need it to measure 10' x 10' at the top as well, you can leave off the decorative beam ends. We hope this helps you!

Answer:
Nope, they are exactly the same, except for the color. Neither is the advertised size, really (they enclose an area somewhat less than 10x10 feet) and each one is composed of over 900 parts. Step 1 in the instructions is to inventory all those parts, and you have to do that before the manufacturer will have a word with you about any damage or defects.

Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 8 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Turned Out Great! We ordered this for initial use as the setting for our backyard wedding and it worked out great! Wow! The delivery was really fast! The delivery driver knew his stuff and things were unloaded into the garage without a hitch. The assembly instructions were well laid out...FOLLOW THEM! We didn't pay attention and ended up having to take some things apart and reassemble them using the right components. Quality was pretty good but we ended up having to cut the plinth to make it fit. That meant there was LOTS of finish work to really give it a polished appearance. Everyone commented on how nice the pergola looked and we look forward to enjoying it for years to come! 8-) May 13, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not the advertised size, unless you count the bits at the top If you want a 12 x 12 foot pergola, look at other models. This is tiny bit over 10x10 at the outside bottom corners, and encloses an area of about 9.5 by 9.5 feet. They also make a "12x14" model, which my wife and I purchased, only to find that it is much more cramped than we expected because it is really less than 10x12 in the enclosed area. It also includes over 900 parts, so it takes quite a while to assemble, relative to some competing models. February 4, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Looks great installed Received quickly, was missing a part but Home Depot shipped it express mail and we had the piece quickly. June 27, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent pergola This is an absolutely great pergola for the price! It looks amazing, and is easy to put together by just one person. The lumber is not perfect though, and some pieces are badly curved, but it is not really noticeable when it all is put together. Many pre-drilled holes are somewhat offset of the centre of cross pieces, but I did not have to drill new ones. All the plinth blocks are longer by about a 1/4 of an inch though. There was plenty of spare screws. Instructions are not so great, and one or two pictures are rather confusing (or possibly wrong). I built the base and laid the pavers before ordering the pergola using the dimensions that I found in the online assembly instructions. It all lined up perfectly and the finished product is absolutely stunning. Completely satisfied. July 10, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by molded after first rain storm. It's looks great. My points are base on the product itself. I had to sand down a peice, becuase it was not correctly cut. Second, it started to MOLD after the first rain storm. I was able to put the product up myself. Third, if you want to bolt it down, you have to buy the parts. Aslo, i did not get my cover/shade. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great looking pergola! I had to hire someone to put it together because it had lots and lots of pieces, but for me, it was totally worth it! May 6, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Elegant Retreat My husband put this together basically by himself, with me supporting the structure once in a while! He truthfully hasn't done things like this too much but he carried this off like a pro! The instructions were so descriptive and easy to read. The pictures were very clear and easy to see. I'd recommend this to anyone! November 3, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Size is disceiving. Pergola is not actually 12 x 12. More like 10 x 10. November 5, 2013
