Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by HandyBob Seems very well made
I have only used it once so far, but it appears to be well built. The swiveling is very smooth and the locks on the base grip firmly. The jaws close perfectly with no misalignment at all, the lead screw has a nice finish for smooth and tight closing, and it was lubricated well.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rick the best vise out there for the money
this was a great value. I shopped a lot of different stores, manufacturers, and price ranges. Easy to use, is very smooth, the clamping power (4200 lbs.) is one of the highest. Has a manufac.. warranty of 3 yrs./ for breakage, is made of cast steel instead of cast iron and the main screw is covered to keep out debris and 90 day return policy for any reason if unhappy. Shipped to my home for free (amazing for 26 lbs.) My order shipped the very next morning (ordered @ 8:00pm) and arrived right on time (during xmas rush).I couldn't be happier and would recommend it to family & friends. For the 5" vise I found that prices are $59.00 all the way to $3,800.00. I had no idea they could cost that much. Mine was $106.00 and seems like it will handle everything except the most extreme jobs that would require a professional (beyond my skill level). 5 stars!

Had planned on just buying a cheap Harbor Freight cast vise. Glad I didn't. I spent $40 more on this vise and it was well worth the price. Solidly built steel vise with two lock-down levers. Square jaws and no need to strip apart to clean up and lubricate.

I bought this Yost vise online as the price was very fair for what I thought I was receiving. Upon being shipped to my house I found that the vise was incredibly small and lightweight. I should have excepted this for that price level but was hoping there would be some meat to the vise. The handle and lock downs are meant for a child to use and the screw and casting is incredibly small. It would be a good vise for light duty applications and small craft projects. I returned mine as it would look ridiculous on my bench. The quality of the vise was its redeeming factor. It seemed to operate smoothly and close tightly, with the jaws even on each side. However, for anyone looking for a 'mans vise' I would not recommend this one.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by TDoggs Not a bad vise...
Researched vises for a little while, figured you can't go wrong with a Yost. Well. when I got it I was a little dissapointed. For the price, I thought it would be a little more heavy duty, and what I didnt like is it only has three mounting feet where I thought it had four. It does close nice and smooth and the pivot lock downs work good, but for the money, I think you can get something cheaper that will do the same exact thing.

I decided to order an all steel vise since they are typically stronger and let's face it you buy a vice one in your lifetime so I didn't mind paying a little extra. The 5 inch jaws are perfect for my application (working on smaller motorcycle parts, drilling, etc.) but you might want to go 6" or 8" if you are going to work on car part or other larger items. It was shipped for free to my home and I have mounted to my bench with carriage bolts. I am very happy with it.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by FutureGunsmith Everyone's gotta have a vice ;-p
This vice is worth the extra money. I considered this a long-term investment since I'm pursuing a gunsmith hobby, so the value of this item is definitely a plus. The jaws move smoothly and stay aligned and stay tight when in use. It is a solid unit and there's no "wiggle" where cheaper vices will be sloppy. I am pleased with my purchase. Shipping was quick. Good job HD.
