WHAT do you recommend to use to get mold off of a cedar cabinet

Asked by: Crystal
Hi Crystal. There are several products for removing the mold and mildew stain but there is only one that will penetrate into the mild to destroy the mold roots. This product is called Concrobium and is available in the Paint Department at your local Home Depot. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Concrobium-32-oz-Mold-Control-025326/100654126 Concrobium is available in the handy 32 oz. ready to use bottle and it also comes in the 128 oz. bottle for easy refills. Once you have gotten rid of all the mold, you may want to reseal the wood with a good wood sealer/water proofer such as AGRA-LIFE TriCoPolymer: http://www.homedepot.com/p/TriCoPolymer-VOC-Free-Non-Toxic-Lumber-Seal-1-gal-Clear-Satin-Wood-Sealer-LS128/203322573 or RAIN GUARD: http://www.homedepot.com/p/RAIN-GUARD-1-gal-Advanced-Multi-Surface-Masonry-and-Wood-Waterproofer-10-years-TPC-0001/204611750 Both of these wood sealers are a clear coat. Your cedar cabinet must be completely dry before either product is applied. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance. Rick _HD_OC

We appreciate your inquiry. However, Zep Mold Stain & Mildew Stain Remover is formulated to be used on hard, non-porous surfaces. We would not recommend this for use on your mattress. We do not manufacture a product for use to remove mold and mildew from soft surfaces.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works! My bathroom has no ventilation so the mold issue on my tile and grout was getting out of control. I've tried using bleach, hydrogen peroxide, vinegar and baking soda, tilex, etc and NOTHING has ever helped to prevent or get rid of the mold stains - until now. I wish I had taken before and after pictures but I had little to no hope of this product working despite the high reviews so I didn't bother. Within half an hour almost all of the black mold stains were gone! I was so overjoyed I started jumping up and down in my bathroom. This truly is a great product and I highly recommend it to everyone!

Knowing that the leak seapage was raw sewage, plumber told me to pick up some mold/mildew cleaner to sanitize the floor area. Opened two of the basement windows and I hit the area hard with ZEP. Alittle too much since we ended up smelling the cleaner upstairs when furnaces kicked on. Lowered thermostat and let the chemicals kick in. Im not a scientist but think it knocked out the bad stuff . Took some damp paper towels to "rinse" the area and threw them out I repeated same process 2 days later (with furnace off) and now waiting for smell to completely dissipate so we can head back down there and resume as normal

Had been using outdoor bleach on patio concrete pavers that regularly become stained by droppings from a Black Olive tree as well as black mildew. Zep M&M Stain Remover cleaned more effectively. Also bought the quart spray bottle as an applicator, which worked well on black mildew on shower stall tile grout.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Mold Mildew Killer This stuff just melts mold and mildew off surfaces , just spray on, wait then rinse no scrubbing. Excellent for outdoor "green moss". Great for tubs and showers just make sure the area is vented. Has a bleach smell but it doesn't stain clothes or surfaces like bleach.

I bought a boat with vinyl seats and trim that were mildewed from years of storage. My good friend who is a boat captain said I'd never get them clean. The buddy I bought the boat from was selling the boat because his wife hated the seats being funky and he couldn't get them clean. I looked online and bought in to the hype from a couple of different products that were expensive and did not work at all. If you have heavy mildew, you're going to need a product with bleach. This stuff has been incredible. I spray it on with a fine mist and let it sit. After 20-30 minutes I'll re-spray. I'll do this all afternoon until what I need to be clean is perfectly mildew free. Then rinse thoroughly and...done. No scrubbing, just patience and find something else to do while the seats are soaking. I understand there is a threat of damage to the upholstery threads, but I'd read enough reviews online that I decided in my case it was worth the risk. Also, no ordering and waiting...I walked into my local HD and pulled it right off the shelf!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favorite Product! I use this all the time. I love it because it gets rid of old and new mildew. I have a bottle in every shower. I spray the whole shower before I get in. I use it on my outdoor furniture too. The price is so reasonable !
