Rated 5 out of 5 by The ONLY shower cleaner I'll ever use! This product simply cannot be improved! It is PERFECT just the way it is. Not only is it the only product that truly got rid of hard water deposits I deal with on glass shower doors, but it is a terrific buy. About two months ago, I started my own residential cleaning business. I looked for quality products that were also economical when shopping for my supplies. I had tried at least 3 other products before I tried Zep. With all of them, I choked on fumes, scrubbed till I was exhausted, and still was not satisfied with the job they were doing. As a last ditch effort, I decided to give Zep a try, and I was astonished. I sprayed the shower doors lightly enough to get good coverage without wasting it by letting it just run down the drain. The instructions say to let it work for 2-3 minutes on the soap scum and hard water deposits. I let it work for the time it took me to clean the toilet. When I returned to finish the shower, I used a simple plastic scrubber to loosen the debris. If you are familiar with hard water deposits, you know about how you can "feel" as well as "hear" the buildup under your scrubbing tool. Well, as I worked over the heavy deposits, I noticed almost immediately the feel became smooth and rough, scratchy sound disappeared. The bottle says it "dissolves soap scum, calcium and lime deposits". I couldn't say it better. I had one glass shower in particular that I constantly struggled with and usually only removed about 85% of the hard scale off the glass and faucet. It was a beautiful shower and I hated giving up, but one can only scrub so much when fighting a losing battle. Now, I get the entire glass enclosure COMPLETELY clear. And I do not have to worry about the faucets either. They come completely clean as well with no damage to any surface I have used it on. I believe I read another review that claimed this product caused them some damage. I don't know all the details of their circumstance, but in my experience, the only thing damaged was the soap scum and hard water stains. And as a bonus, when I rinse down the shower after lightly scouring, the water sheets off. I let it air dry a few minutes, wipe with a microfiber cloth, then wipe with a dry microfiber cloth and the glass is crystal clear; no need to use glass cleaner or anything else. Just wipe dry and it is perfect! I'm telling you, this is a magnificent product. And another thing, it does not have that heavy chemical scent like other famous common household products which makes your lungs unhappy. Oh I suppose if you were in a small shower enclosure and sprayed a large amount, you might be affected. Generally speaking, I do not have fume problems at all, and it has a pleasant scent. I generally wear gloves, but I'll admit I have used it without them. I wouldn't recommend that though because it really does dry out your skin and does a number on your cuticles. But just follow the directions, and I bet you will LOVE this cleaner. You may almost look forward to the next time you GET to clean your clear glass shower doors. I know I do. October 26, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wow! This stuff is killer. It cleans deposits, scum, crud and anything else that gets in it's way. Pretty awesome on my floor tile too. July 24, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very Effective For Removing Soap Residue and Calcium Deposits (water stains) Very effective for removing soap residue and calcium deposits in the shower, as well as removing calcium/lime stains above the water line in the toilet bowl. Minimum elbow grease needed to remove soap scum. Use gloves with this product, as it is caustic. I also would not recommend using it on no-wax flooring or other finished flooring of any type. Can be used on tile. Can also be used on fiberglass showers and tubs, and on glass. Do NOT leave this product overnight on glass or on fiberglass. It may also etch porcelin finish on toilets if left on overnight. October 21, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Former Shower Power user really likes this stuff! Just so you know, this is NOT for mold/mildew on grout or tub seals - your bleach based cleaners are for that. This is for soap scum, dirt, and hard water stains. For years I used Shower Power until it left store shelves. I couldn't bring myself to pay the online price so I have been trying just about every tub cleaner out there for the past 20+ years. FINALLY! I found one that works! It doesn't work as fast as Shower Power, but it is the very next best thing. I'm a diagnosed asthma sufferer, and I don't have any problems using this stuff. Just use common sense - vent, don't mix with other cleaners, and don't spray it in your face and you'll be fine. My son's tub/tiles were a disaster - like it was out of one of those TV shows. It did take 3 treatments to get some of the spots clean, but it is sparkling now! Squeaky clean, actually! I spray it on, use one of those plastic loofah scrubbers on a long handle to swoosh it around, let it sit for a minute or two, swoosh it again and rinse. Scum-b-Gone! This stuff is cheap, it actually works, and like another reviewer said, the bottle continues to spray until product is gone. So many cleaners have those cheap sprayers that quit working before you're halfway through the bottle - so frustrating! Embarrassing to get so excited over a tub/tile cleaner, but after so many years of searching, finding this stuff was a feat. September 20, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best stuff out there! Don't know whats in it, but it works. I was ready to remove all the caulk because of the black mold that was underneath. I even tried the scrubing brush several times and was ready to give up. I walked into home depot to get some stuff and this stuff was right when you walked in. For $2 it was worth a shot and unbelieveable it took all the mold away within a hr. The odor is strong so I recommend spraying the area, put the fan on and leave for a couple hrs, unless you want to get high on the fumes. LOL May 27, 2011
