Customer Questions & Answers

Does this have to be used in a pressure washer?

I have a garden hose attachment bottle that can be filled with a cleaner concentrate, and it will dilute the cleaner as it sprays. Will this product be effective in that type of sprayer?
Asked by: KleanGuy
No. On my porch I used it in a garden sprayer to get into tight places and it worked well,

Can I put this in a bucket and use a scrub brush to clean my siding?

I saw that using a pressure washer is recommended but can I just brush this on with a siding brush and get some decent results? I just need to clean the house good enough to satisfy the home owner's association and I cannot afford to buy a pressure washer. Also, even if I could afford one, I'm afraid to use a pressure washer as I have heard using one (if you don't know what you're doing, which I don't) can force water under the siding. I'm not asking for a guarantee, I'm just asking if I can use this product in a bucket without damaging my siding.
Asked by: nessun
A little dated but this might help someone else? Sure you can, just follow the dilution recommendations. Wet the siding first, then start at the BOTTOM of the house and work your way up. Don't start at the top and wash down, start at the bottom and work up. Use plenty of water to rinse, as your working up the side of the house use plenty of water to rinse the bottom that you already washed. I would also buy or borrow a spray tank applicator to spray on the wash then use your brush. If you just dip in the bucket you will be wasting a lot of wash. I use a pressure washer and in spots also do what I am telling you. I have a soap dispenser on my pressure washer but use a spray tank applicator to spray the wash on. I think it saves on the wash liquid you are using. Get yourself a telescopic extension pole for the brush, it makes washing so much easier reaching the high areas. If possible work on shady spots or on a cloudy day. Avoid the real hot sunny spots, it makes for a better end result. (at least I think).

How to Dilute?

I bought the SunJoe Pressure joe and am really confused how to dilute this stuff! Right now i pour 1 gallon of water into a bucket and then 6oz of zepp into there and then put that water from the bucket into the pressure washer resevior. I feel asthough there is no soap coming out and using wayyy to little. I think i am diluting too much as the pressure washer also dilutes. Any help is appecitated with helping to dilute! Thanks.
Asked by: Troy
You can add more soap to your mix according to the bottle. I used a soap dispensing nozzle tip and could see the suds on siding. That was with a 6 oz. to gal. mix

can you use this also for sidewalks and driveway?

Asked by: Rockman
You can but you will find Zep's Driveway and Concrete Pressure Wash right next to this on the shelf. That's what I use and it works great on my driveways.

The Zep line of products from Home Depot have never failed to deliver on their promises. I recently purchased a 3100psi gasoline power washer to maintain the copious amount of concrete (driveways, sidewalks, house foundation); stone (walkways, breezeway, two patios, retaining wall); and vinyl siding (entire home, breezeway, detached garage). As you can tell from the images, I had my work cut out for me. I have attempted this with other brands of pressure wash soap, but with poor to mixed success. I credit any past successes to the high quality of the power washer, rather than any assistance from the soap product. After filling my soap tank with Zep, I got immediate, measurable, easy, and economical results. I can now clean my entire estate in one weekend, rather than hiring it out, or wasting multiple weekends with poorer results.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I use ZEP when and where ever I can. I originally bought ZEP to control a mold problem in the house we were renting. I noticed the more I used it, the easier it was to keep those areas clean. It put kind of a protective shell on what ever. So I use it on my suit cases. I used it on synthetic hair weave and wigs. I even tried it my curtains that went on the doors. I recently started to put a little in my carpet shampooer. I diluted the carpet shampoo with it and it makes it SO much easier to clean up the machine. I love ZEP and wish I could keep a year supply so I would never run out!!!

We did 24 oz per 1 gallon water - in a backpack sprayer. We sprayed the siding, and kept misting it to keep it wet, leaving it on 10 minutes. Then pressure washed with a hot water pressure washer - AMAZING. Our siding had not been cleaned in 15 years. It was faded and oxidized, had small algae marks, and we live in the country, so easily a lot of dust and dirt. Watching the difference with each swipe of the wand was nice to see. My face felt a little lightly chemical burned by end of day - next time I'd put a bunch of coconut oil on b4 doing this - also, we attempted on too windy of a day. We tried to work in shaded parts only. Upon inspection today, 1 day later - the oxidation has definitely been reduced and the siding looks brighter, newer, and fresher. Very happy. This was recommended to me by the guy working the electrical dept. at our local HD

My husband and I recently purchased our first home, and it definitely need some TLC. Previous owners hadn't done any up-keep inside or outside. One of our first tasks was pressure washing the outside of the house to get rid of years of built up dirt & grim. This concentrate did a phenomenal job! We had thought the house was a light yellow, turns out its more of a beige/cream color!

Many stains, mildew and dirty areas remained. I ended up using just plain liquid soap and then some bleach in a spray bottle prior to pressure washing. The bleach and soap was far superior. I would imagine that this product is a lot less harsh on plants and grass than the bleach, but it does not clean well.
