I keep this in the house for those "just in case" moments. I've found that in the times where you really need this (or similar items) the last thing you want to do is run to the store.
- As others have noted, STAND BACK. This stuff is strong (or at least it smells strong). That said I used another product that when poured ate away some of the finish off my bathtub around the drain. This did not do that.
- Cleared a slow running tub drain in no time.
For general slow running drains and light clogs, I think this product is a good value for money. Gets the job done and is incredibly strong. Would recommend.

Unlike liquid drain cleaners, which are difficult to measure out, these crystals are easier to work with and won't splash. You just pour them down the drain and walk away. When the time is up you run water in the drain until it flows. If it needs to be done again, you can leave it in a little longer. We had a clog in our kitchen drain and this cleaned it out the first time.

Another satisfied customer here. Granted it took me about 7 times to clear the bathroom sink drain, that's okay because I've been trying to clear it for a month now and nothing was working, plunger, baking soda and vinegar, bioclean, boiling water, etc.
I saw some fizzing every time I used Crystal Heat. Followed up with boiling water and plunger on the 4th to 7th tries. Finally heard a gurgling sound. Then that was it! All cleared up!!!

I noticed that my plumber used "Glug" the last time I had a bad clog, however it is not available in stores. I had previously purchased the "Glug" but ran out and wound up with a super huge clog. I googled Crystal drain opener and found that Home Depot sells ZEP, which is a fast acting crystal drain opener that claims to be safe on all pipes and it was extremely affordable! Less than $8.00 for the 2 lb. bottle, which can be used on multiple clogs, as well as a preventative treatment for drains too! I highly recommend this product!

I was having routine drain stoppages that required a plumber's attention and service to open. I have been using this Crystal Heat Drain Opener for over a year and have not had a stoppage. I follow the directions and add about a tablespoon a month to the drain servicing my kitchen sink and washing machine. Sure is a lot less expensive than paying a professional to open a drain.

I had the kitchen sink clogged and the crystals just burned through that clog in no time. This is not a product for the weary, as soon as water touches it you can feel and smell the fumes of the acid at work. You can almost see it burning its way down the drain and clearing up the clog right away. It is a very strong chemical, don't know how it can affect the drain pipes, but it sure worked. Awesome product.

I used these crystals in the amount recommended in a plastic trap pipe under the kitchen sink, same one I always have to snake clear. In the past I have held a flashlight to the backside and it would be dark so I know that it was all greased and gooey , I would use a small snake like tool and flush a couple of gallons of boiled water down. BUT This chemical heated like boiling water and lasted ten+ minutes until I flushed it down with boiling water again, flashlight allowed the trap to be translucent (clean), It loosened or ate all the sludge away from the pipe walls. YES cover the drain when it is working, do not shake canister first, do not use eating silverware to measure and pour, do not make powder dust so keep it close to your work and open two windows a crack on opposite ends of the room for the fumes. This reminds me of the old Draino crystal’s in the shake can (years ago) Well 30 more use’s should last years for this retail price. DO NOT BREATHE any of this. 4 Stars
