got an old house with and old drain in the basement. did laundry and the drain puked again. used the zep instant absorber and that combined with the wet dry vac and few other tools. got it all cleaned up. the zep sucked up most of the liquid and the wet dry vac got the rest. the zep isn't good for all jobs for the basement drain that puked it worked. going to give zep drain cleaner a whirl and see if I can clean out the drain since it's slow. then I will also dump some rooty killer in it as well and hopefully no more basement drain puking when laundry is done.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by HighVoltage Cleaned up yuck!
I used this product to remove black mastic adhesive dissolved in a soybean oil based solvent designed specifically for the job (could contain asbestos). Yuck! Nasty stuff. This product was immensely helpful in getting this mess up off the floor. I did not expect this absorber to pull the solvent out of the concrete and it didn't. To accomplish that part of the job, I used a degreaser. Finally, I would not consider using this product for a "leak," I'd fix the leak.

When I was a soldier in the United States Army we use a Product called dry sweep, instant spill absorber has worked very well on oil stains on the outside concrete surface. Within seconds of sweeping into the oil stains I have witness dramatic results, and would recommend this product to anyone with the same problem. I am very satisfied with this product and will continue to use it in the future.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by J203 Excellent product
I used this to soak up water on a concrete floor from a leaking water heater for several days before I could get the heater replaced. It worked great for me as I used the whole bag and could actually have used more but didn't take time to go get more. I just reused some of the less wet absorber, and it soaked up more water. As several other reviews have noted, coming out of the bag it is very light and will blow easily so it's best to apply from a close distance. I also experienced the throat irritation and coughing as mentioned in another review when I starting sweeping up the dry residue so I used a dust mask to avoid that. Cleaning it up while it was still wet also eliminated the throat irritation since it had a consistency similar to damp sand. I'll keep a bag on hand for leak emergencies.

I can understand those mentioning it blowing away in the wind, but this product works amazingly for my purposes (plus, its lightweight nature makes it really easy to dispose of after soaking up whatever you're using it for). I'm removing nasty mastic adhesive from concrete in my basement with Sentinel Formula 747 Plus. At first, I thought it was hopeless, because the solvent turned the mastic into a disgusting tar-like substance that stuck to everything and seemed impossible to clean. I picked up a bag of this ZEP stuff and problem solved! This stuff works like a charm, and I can finally see a light at the end of the tunnel with this project.

I stupidly decided to strip 60 year old black mastic from my bedroom floor myself. I bought6 gallons of soybean based solvent and 2 bags of this liquid absorber with intentions to buy more. This stuff works exactly as expected to absorb this half liquefied, greasy, disgusting mess I've made. I've used a bag and a half on maybe 4 gallons of solvent. I feel like that's pretty good.
Now, a word of warning. The instructions say to lay the product down from very close to the ground. Even if your back is killing you and you absolutely don't think you can bend over for one more second, do not sprinkle this stuff from waist height. I did, and within seconds I realized my mistake, but it was too late. My Mouth and nose were full of the dust of this stuff. I have drank several glasses of water, but I'm still coughing and uncomfortable. Oops.
