I have a aerobic septic system. Right now, we use Pro Chlor Tabs and drop them down the tube outside. Does this product replace the tabs?

Answer:
It does not sound like the two products are compatible. Zep Septi-Paks are comprised of bacteria and enzymes to assist with the health of the actual septic tank. They do not contain chlorine. If used in conjunction with chlorine it would render the formula ineffective.

4 oz. Septi-Pak Concentrated Septic System Treatment (Case of 8) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Two Pack Treatment Taking care of your septic system should not be a after thought. Take good care of it and it will serve car you well. Monthly treatments require a biological enzyme to help digest slugg and waste. The Zep Septi-Pak contains two once a month packs. Allow one pak per month to dissolve in the toilet and then flush. As an RV owner taking care of the waste tanks is also a must. I allow one pak to dissolve in the toilet and flush into the holding tank. Allow to remain in the holding tank for 24 to 48 hours to clean and dissolve waste and slugg. Then empty your tank. In our case I empty it into the septic tank.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Product Nice product and easy to use. Every septic system requires the proper amount of bacteria to work as designed. This product provides the needed bacteria. Simply drop one of the two packets into your toilet and allow to dissolve. Then simply flush and your all set for another month. No messy liquids or loose dry product clinging to everything. As long as this product is used as directed you should have no trouble with your system.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No measuring and no mess The Zep 12 Oz SEPTI-PAK Concentrated Septic System Treatment package contains a 6 month supply of preventative maintenace for your septic tank. After years of using another popular brand where I had to measure out the powder or liquid every month and then clean up the spills or messes, I was introduced to this Zep product that simplifies the monthly septic treatment procedure. All you have to do is drop a wrapped pouch into the toilet once a month, wait a few minutes for it to dissolve and flush. Done....simple...no measuring...no mess! Each pouch contains the amount needed for up to a 1,500 gal septic tank. Furthermore, it is cheaper than the other brand I was using. Always nice to save money! If you have a hard time remembering when to treat your septic, Zep will even send you an email reminder once a month! Just go to zepcommercial.com and sign up. Great product!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy To Use Septic Treatment Tried the Septi-Pak Concentrated Septic System Treatment and is really easy to use. Put in toilet, let it sit for a few minutes so that the bag can dissolve, flush, and in my case flush again. The treatment is supposed to last for 30 days for septic tanks up to 1500 gallons. The packaging has all kinds of warnings, just like any chemical product. The only down side to this product is the lack of the active ingredients on the packaging, which is something that I would have liked to have seen. The pictures show the sequence of the entire operation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Try this instead of the high priced products! For years I used a popular brand of septic tank treatment commonly sold at the grocery and discount stores. I started having septic tank problems 2 years ago and tried a very expensive, over $500, septic tank treatment kit/system from a bio-engineering company. End result, it didn't work. I had the septic tank pumped/cleaned and some of the problems continued. Then, I started using this product on a monthly basis over a year ago. All of the problems I had, cleared up, and have remained so.I continue to use this product on a monthly basis to maintain a healthy septic system. I use several different Zep products in my home that I buy at Home Depot and have found them all comfortably priced, great quality, and excellent results. I expected the same results from this product and so far it has met my expectations. You simply flush one packet per month for a septic tank up to 1,500 gals. No fuss, no mess! Just drop one in the toilet bowl, let it dissolve, (the pack dissolves quickly), and flush. This product contains specially blended enzyme-producing bacteria that help digest household waste, reduces sludge build up in septic tanks and field lines. Digests paper, oils, grease, stops unpleasant odors, and prevents clogs. Ingredients listed on package:Rice Hulls, Dextrose, Salt, Yeast, Sodium Carbonate, Sodium Bicarbonate, Polydimethylsiloxane, Nonionic surfactant, Bacteria cultures. Made in the USA. Distributed by Zep Products/Sales, Atlanta, Ga.
