Customer Questions & Answers

Left ZEP 10-Minute Hair Clog Removerin pvc shower drain overnight. Will it damage the pipes?

Asked by: absentminded
It dose work but only if it is able to sit on the clog and the clog isn't mixes with soap. It not a replacement for a good drain snake but I'll sometimes try it first before I pull out the snake.

Why can you not use it for your toilet

My shower has tile on the floor all around the drain. Will it get damaged by this product?

Asked by: Alicia
If you are concerned about the product remaining on the tile, we would recommend wiping the drain and surrounding tile with a clean, damp cloth to remove any product that may have contacted those areas while you wait for the drain to clear.

64 oz. Hair Clog Remover Gel is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 161.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Useless Had clog in shower, kitchen sink. Tried this product in shower drain, other product in kitchen sink. Neither clog responded to Dollar Store drain opener. Long story short? Other product opened stubborn kitchen sink clog - this product did nothing for shower - used entire bottle, chased it w/40 oz. of dollar store drain opener - still have a non-draining shower. I came here because the bottle said "guaranteed to work - see www.zepcommercial.com for details..." How 'bout that? No details that I can find. Last Zep product I'll be buying...

With women taking multiple showers, especially in the hot summer, clogs seem to occur more recently. Using this hair clog remover at least twice a month has reduced the number of water back-ups in the tub.Depending on how many "hairy" people in the house using the shower, not only women but men who are losing their hair, the usage may be more than previous recommended of twice a month. We have been using this clog remover for more than 5 years....it works really well.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This product is worthless I've had an issue with my bathroom sink clogging up in the last year. I went with another brand that cleared it up for about 6 months. This time around I went off the "guarantee to work" and the fact I know it's hair that's clogging. I followed the directions...nothing. I ended up using the whole bottle and the stagnant water went down about halfway. It's been 48 hrs and my sink is still clogged. Where do I get my money back?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't work Had a clogged tub drain so went and bought a bottle of this product. Bottle said to use 1/4 of it. Used a full bottle of it and still didn't unclog the drain. Went and bought draino product instead and it worked instantly. ZEP was no help

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No Go! bought this because of the guarantee. Used the whole gallon eventually. Came to website to find refund info, but no link so far. Not the product to use if your shower clogs up.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't work at all Didn't work in the slightest, now the standing water in my drain has chemicals in it so when I go to take a shower I get to stand in chemical water.

I went with another brand that cleared it up for about 6 months. This time around I went off the "dissolves hair fast GUARANTEED" and the fact I know it's hair that's clogging my pipes. I followed the directions accordingly and no change. I ended up having to use the whole bottle and the stagnant water went down about halfway. It's been 48 hrs and my sink is still clogged. I think this product is worthless. Make sure and check out the company website for this product first (or any for that matter) because it's ALL negative reviews with the same issues. I went and bought a competing brand and sure enough, it worked.

I have a slow drain in my bathtub and as directed, poured 1/4 of this bottle into the drain, waited 10 minutes, and turned the water on to flush it out. Still slow draining. No big deal, maybe it's a big hair clog. I emptied 1/2 of the bottle into the drain, waited 3 hours this time. STILL DRAINING SLOW! What a waste of my money. I went to Home Depot looking for Draino and found this instead, it cost more so figured it must work better, right? Not at all. Contacting the company for a refund is a waste of time because it takes 6-8 weeks for your refund to process.
