Customer Questions & Answers

Can I use this for slow-running toilets?

I heard many Drano products are not conducive for toilets.
Asked by: Crystie
I don't know. I presume it can't hurt. I don't know if 16 - or even 32 - ounces is enough volume to flow through the toilet trap which has more water than a basin trap - where it works well.

Customer Reviews

64 oz. Professional Strength Drain Opener is rated 2.4 out of 5 by 86.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked on 2nd gallon I was going to give this a one star review, because after using an entire 128 ounces over over about six applications, I didn't notice much improvement. But it did look like my sink was draining a little better, though it would still get backed up. So I bought another gallon. After another 2 or 3 applications the clog was removed, at least enough for me to run the water non-stop without water backing up. I was pretty sure I was going to have to higher a plumber, but this product did the job.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lost Money Don't waist your money or time! My local Hardware Store recommended this product, they guaranteed it would work for a clogged toilet in less than half an hour, it didn't! I really had high hopes, but it didn't work at all, it says in the bottle "Guaranteed to work." It didn't, very disappointed, plus I followed the instructions one by one! So disappointed in wasting my money!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great I have used it in the bathroom sink and kitchen sink. Works great. I use 16 oz. sometimes I have had to do it twice. I always wait a day before trying again and avoid using sink until second treatment . I also plunge a bit BEFORE using, (only before first treatment) Just to dislodge and soften. Not sure why all the negative reviews.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Did nothing at all I followed the directions on the label, probably using more product than prescribed if anything. Waited a bit over the prescribed time only to realize, much to my chagrin, that my drains' performance had not changed. (Yes, you read right. Tried on multiple drains and did not notice any change.) Guess you get what you pay for...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk I believe I jspent $11 for a bottle of bleach. That's what it looks and smells like. This stuff is junk, have used almost the entire bottle over the last two weeks with no success.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn't work Used this on a VERY slow running drain. The drain would take about 24 hours to fully drain. This product didn't work

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Zepp always works well! I use it for our bathtub and it always does the trick.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I saved over $400 on plumbing service The heavily clogged kitchen sink drain pipe is as clean as a whistle now. After the initial plumber's visit I was left with my pocket $235 lighter and the kitchen sink still clogged. The next step that was suggested was to open the ceiling and cut the drain pipe because it had too many turns, so the auger wouldn't go very far. This amazing product has solved the problem perfectly. The only suggestion for potential users: practice patience. You want it fast or you want it done? I ignored the claim that it would eat through the grease in 15 minutes an had left it sit there for 15 hours and voi la! I used the whole gallon instead of a recommended quart. I hope that you find this comment useful :-)
