Answer:
I spaced the insulators about 13 feet apart based on a) light duty application (separate our dogs from the neighbor's), b) light tension in the electric fence wire (about 3 pounds) and c) a minimal amount of fence wire sag between insulators.

Answer:
The insulators should be placed about 10 feet apart. They may need to be closer depending on the tightness of the wire. It is important that the wire does not touch the chain link fence.

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.3 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Great idea, poor execution The kit was short on delivery. They use cotter pins for mounting, but the mounting would be much more stable if two cotter pins. So, I went out to get more. Additionally the screws for mounting the plastic posts were truly a poor choice, so I had to replace them. September 8, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Stamped metal needs work Stamped metal did NOT accept the screw for mounting the insulator. Had to file a grove in the side of the hole for the screw to bite into. The manufacturer's stamping machine is apparently in need of service. August 4, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by not bad does the job needed, but the plastic parts are not that great quality, but probably made in china .... December 10, 2014
