Hi JAK, your shower rod, should have come with 4 screws and plastic anchors. If you can find a stud, you would drill a pilot hole and then drive the screws through the bracket into the wall. If you have a hollow wall, such as drywall, you will need to drill the hole large enough to insert the plastic anchor. If you have to drill through tile, you will need a tile/glass bit. If for any reason the hardware is missing/loss, use a #10 pan head stainless steel screw and #10-12 plastic anchors. The info on the side of the plastic anchor package will tell you what size drill bit you need.

Why does the title say "Builder 41 in. - 72 in. Steel Tension Shower Rod in Chrome" but the specifications say it's "Fixed?" How can it be both--and, if it can't, which one is it?

Builder 41 in. - 72 in. Steel Tension Shower Rod in Chrome is rated 2.3 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheap, Plastic & Not Worth the Money We were looking for a permanent straight wall mounted shower curtain rod that was a reasonable price. We ordered this from Home Depot online & it was shipped & received quickly. Unfortunately, the quality of the product was very poor. The rod itself is super light weight & I don't think it would stand the test of time. The mounting brackets were frosted plastic & the flange covers were also plastic that were painted or coated silver. I wish Home Depot wouldn't even offer an item like this because it is not of good quality. We returned this item back to our local Home Depot store.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I wouldn't buy again. This product is cheaply made I don't look for it to last over a year.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fairy to install and nice to see that Home Depot carries a screw in type shower rod. Good product and easy to install. Finish of the chrome looks good too.
