No, the shower rod is not recommended to be used as a curtain rod.

I have 73" wall to wall. Will it still work?

Asked by: Hardavman1092
This rod is adjustable for showers from 44 in. to 72 in. Wide. If the area the rod will be mounted on is within 44 in. to 72 in. wide, then it will work. If the area the shower rod will be mounted on is 73 inches or greater, then the rod will be too short.

NeverRust 44 in. - 72 in. Aluminum Adjustable Curved Shower Rod in Chrome is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 31.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Feels Cheap I am in a tricky spot because I really wanted a curved, permanent mount shower curtain rod and not a straight suspension rode BUT I have less than 53 inches to work with. I decided to purchase this one due to a lack of options. I know it is lighter because it is aluminum but this goes beyond just feeling light. It feels downright cheap/chincy. I have also heard it rusts depsite the name- time will tell in that regard. I'm going to install it and see how it works out- I will keep you updated!

However, the online picture does not reflect the actual item. The brackets are a black plastic (still, good quality). The rod comes with aluminum end caps that are attractive, but don't install very well. Instructions and hardware were fine. The rod did suit our needs, which was to install it at odd angles.

However, "NeverRust"? I don't think so. After 3 years, ours is completely rusted so that even the rolling ball shower rings don't roll. It has become a pain. We are now moving on to a stainless steel rod. Hopefully with better results.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This product rust quickly The rod looks good when installed. But I have only had it up 3 months and it has rust all over it. I will need to replace it already. Looks very nasty.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stay away from this and all Zenith Products dont buy this shower rod. 1) all measurements in the instructions are incorrect - It lists 65" above the tub edge as the height to install the rod. This is 6-8 inches too high and leaves 6-8 inches of my tub showing beneath the shower curtain. - It lists that for 58" tubs, there should be no spacing back from the front of the tub. This leaves a 6 inch gap between the curtain and the tub which causes massive water overflows. I had to move the brackets back 4.5" to get to where they should have been placed. This caused me to have to create new holes in the wall and spackle over the gaping holes from the original holes 2) fastener quality is abysmal. Every single screw and fastener stripped the first time I attempted to screw them in. The wall anchors all broke during installation. I had to use my own screws and wall anchors to finish the job. Shower rods are such a basic product and should require absolutely no effort to install. This is not the case with this rod.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great design with bad material I used this shower rod for over 8 years and finally give up and replaced with a different band that build with real stainless steel with . This product's description said it is Rust-resistant but the truth is it began rust right after a few months of installed into our bathroom. Don't buy this product!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Product We remodeled our bathroom last August (2011), we started noticing rust spots on the rod around January. I am in the market for a new rod to completely replace the one that is there. I would not recommend this product to anyone, yes it looks good but you will be buying a new within a few months. I have a friend that purchased one from another store (BB&B); has had the rod up for over 3yrs without not one single sign of rust. I will purchasing one of those instead.
