I had the same experience with the zero pitcher. It worked very well with my municipal tapwater the first week and then any water filtered through it was quite sour. I've no idea why the filter is now making the water so sour but I don't want to drink it. A web search reveals I'm not the only one.

(1) Have you had any testing carried out by the NSF? (2) Can you show us a complete list of contaminants tested for?

ZP-006 6-Cup Space Saver Water Filtration Pitcher is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 45.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Some disappointments. Just bought the 6 cup filter and noticed the top must be removed to fill it. The only way to do this is to put a finger in the spout and pry up. Not very good way to get filtered water. Also the spout causes side spillage.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Zero water I used zero water filter for my chemistry project. First we collect the water from our homes. Then we tested the water with a different parameter like iron, chlorine, bacteria, ph ,nitrates, water hardness and copper. The only element that was present in my water was nitrates. We needed to use a filter to remove the nitrates from the water, then we went to the Zero Water website and it says it removed 99% of nitrates. So we tried to filter the water then after we filtered the water we tested the water again and the nitrate level did lower from 5 ppm to 1 ppm, so I would recommend others to get this filter because it made the water more cleaner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 6 cup pitcher I purchased this great looking pitcher for my son. He loves it. He recommended tp his friends. I think this is the best buy ever. He has been drinking more water and staying away from sodas. I am really happy to finally found a pitcher that is easy to use and filter the tap water. Definitely recommended to everyone. I think the ad kind of sold me on this pitcher after doing some research.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Price for quality I did buy this 2 weeks ago, however the filter expired sooner then I thought. I suppose there is simply too many contaminates with Toronto's water. While it does as advertised I could not recommend this to anyone as I do not find value with this product. There could be someone who gives clean water a very high value and would pay the premium. as a business I don't think they will last long unless they can improve the filter to be more efficient to save $$$.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from ZeroWater is great. ZeroWater is the greatest filtration I have ever used. In my chemistry class, we are doing a project on DC water, where we collected water from different parts of DC and tested to see if any parameters were found in it and whether or not it is safe to drink. The parameters we tested were iron, nitrates, pH, water hardness, lead, bacteria, chlorine, and copper. The highest parameter that was found in the water was water hardness. We chose ZeroWater because on the website, it said that it filters calcium and magnesium, which makes up water hardness. It worked really well. After the filtration, the water hardness decreased to 25 ppm. I would recommend Zero Water.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best water you will ever taste I love Zero Water. I have a pitcher at work, and one at home. After drinking Zero Water, bottled water tastes dirty. I love the tester that comes with it. I tested bottled water, other brands if filters, and my tap water. It is scary how high the dissolved solids are. One thing to keep in mind is, it filters slow, because it has lots if layers to go through to filter. But it's worth it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from great tasting water but poor design Poor design. It is difficult to get to top off to refill with more water. I dont like having to put my finger in the spout to get the lid off. When poring it tends to have a projected stream and is not where I usually judge to water to come out at, it is messy and I have water spalshing everywhere on my countertops. And when poring the filling compartment moves and seems like it is going to fall out. I would prefer a larger resovior to put water into so I'm not refilling it so often. The water tester thing is a joke all it does is light up red or maybe for a few seconds, I would prefer numbers or more colors from the indicator, as in green meaning good and red not so good. I really wish all the filters were interchangable so I could use the zero water filter in my pur pitcher as it has a good design. And is very easy to use with wet hands. The water is as close in taste to reverse osmosis I have ever tasted and I really like it for that quality. But it is so not user friendly and is frustrating. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE! Zero water go back to the drawing board and make a better 6 cup dispenser.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reduce Nitrate! In my chemistry class we tested DC water from one of our group member’s houses. In the water we tested for lead, nitrate, pH, chlorine, copper, water hardness, and iron. In our water we did not find lead, chlorine, copper and iron. We found 10 ppm nitrate in the water. We had to find a filter that cleaned out the nitrate so the level could go down. The filter we found that could make the level nitrate go down is Zerowater. To test the water we poured it into the Zerowater filter to see what happened. I found out that the nitrate went to 0 ppm, water hardness, and pH went down too. The pH was 7 and it went down to 6.5 and the water hardness went down to 50 ppm. The other parameters were already 0 ppm. The Zerowater did work in reducing nitrates.
