I have a home I am buying that was painted with latex over another unknown paint over drywall. The top layer is peeling , it was painted within the last 3 months. What would you recommend other than scraping off all the paint in the entire room , is there a primer that would adhere to the paint that is not peeling yet ? My concern is will it hold in future ?

Answer:
Great question! Rust-OIeum Zinsser Peel Stop Triple Thick is a great option for the application you described. Peel Stop Triple Thick is only available in white and is triple the thickness of standard primers. Rust-Oleum Zinsser Peel Stop dries clear and will be a thinner formula. The difference between the two is the thickness.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Timesaver! This is more accurately a glue than a primer. Instead of sanding all the way down to raw wood this can glue and level the surface. A real time saver. August 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by very good product The product did exactly what it said it would do. Was easy to apply, covered very good and didn't make a mess when applied. August 24, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by time will tell how well this product works The primer was thicker than the typical prime. Time will tell how effective this product really is. My fingers are crossed. July 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome Product worked great! Just as described. Tested two areas one where i put it and one not. The area this is on is no longer peeling. Other side still peeling May 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by So easy! Looks super--see photos! I used it on our kitchen ceiling where there had been severe peeling (and where no other product worked). It went on smoothly and evenly and dried quickly. I used a texture over it and "voila" a like-new ceiling!! FYI: I'm a female DIYer and did it myself without a problem. April 29, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not what I expected By the description stating "triple thick", I thought the actual coverage would be considerably better than the standard primer. It is thicker than normal primer of the same brand, but after considerable stirring of the primer to insure a good mix, it went on just like any other primer. Ended up putting multiple coats on to accomplish the filling of rough spots in the wood. I don't see the extra cost worth the money. November 10, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by works well This product smoothed out the edges and made painting easier. The paint i bought has a built-in primer. The house looks great. We had weathered ridges in some of the wood. It even filled in there. I would use this product again. December 10, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Don't believe it ! Went on just like any other primer. Shook and stirred though the process. Didn't do anything close to what the claims were. Not thicker doesn't fill or smooth out anything. Not worth the money. November 10, 2015
