My husband applied this on the cracks in our drywall just like joint compound, and had excess that needed to be sanded off, but it's dried hard as a rock and he's having a hard time getting it sanded/smooth. Any suggestions?
Asked by: Lisa
It sands just fine, try a coarser sandpaper or sanding block (like 60 grit)

Can this product be drilled/nailed?

I will be using this to patch some outside posts in my porch. I was wondering that, if after it dries, can I nail or screw this product? If not, is there a product that I can use? I understand that Fix-it-All is for interior only.
Asked by: ProfW
Indeed, this product is exceptionally strong, and will hold a screw or nail.

is this product good for repairs to exterior siding?

Insulators drilled large (2") holes in exterior shipboard siding, blew in insulation and then plugged the holes. The plugs are now not flush with siding - very visible and uneven. Will this product work to fill shallow but wide holes? Will it adhere and will it last?
Asked by: Will
My experience is that it's not waterproof. I'd recommend using Bondo wood filler instead.

The description online says it can be used on metal. It does not say it on the can. Can you please tell me if is really good to use on a metal door? Thanks. Kenny
Asked by: Kenny
I have used it over steel corner beading and it stuck great, I see no reason that it can't be used on other metal.

It is "best in category" for these reasons: Once dry, it sands beautifully; it will hold a nail or screw; It blends flawlessly into the surface, whether sheet rock or wood; No shrinkage; and It takes all primers and/or paints, quite like the original sheet rock or wood surfaces the user is repairing. In my humble opinion, it puts all other spacklings to shame, unless your sole goal is speed, with little concern for quality/durability...then you fall into that category, I classify as "a touch and go amateur."

It was easy to apply and form into the shape that I needed. Easy to sand to give it a finished appearance. I was patching a large area, and made two applications. It was fairly cool the first day, and the product didn't really cure out as well as I expected. Given a little more time and favorable temperatures, it cured out well and made patching a good alternative to replacing the rotten board.

The very best drywall mud ever, drys fast, zero shrinkage, hard as a rock when dry and super easy to work with and/or sand. It is kind of expensive and really only intended for small repairs but is the very best product ever. The paint-can packaging keep the product soft and usable even after opened and resealed. Do yourself a favor and try this wonderful product.

Squirrels have been trying to get through some of the siding on my house and have made quite the mess of it. This product, along with a little touch up paint has allowed me to repair the damage from the little devils without too much trouble.

I used this to patch long cracks in2 doors (teenager tantrum kicking) that went through wood door as well as holes in drywall. Dries quickly, very easy to apply. I won't use anything else going forward. Highly recommend. Hard to sand once dry so wipe excess quickly.
