Can this be used on an exposed brick wall, and will it add a sheen to the bricks, or is it a matte finish?
Asked by: Mike
Rust-Oleum Zinsser B-I-N Shellac-Based Clear Primer and Sealer can be used on interior bricks, but it will have a sheen on the brick. We may have a product for you, but we'll need to know more about what you're trying to acheive. Give us a call at (877) 385-8155 to discuss.

Can you use on tiled showers to reduce mold mildew?

Asked by: Bud
We do not recommend using Zinsser B-I-N Primer and Sealer on shower tiles. This product is not designed to withstand the constant exposure to water, heat and humidity it will experience in a shower. As long as the tiles will not be submerged in water, we recommend priming the surface with Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3 Primer and top coated with Zinsser WaterTite Mold and Mildew-Proof Water-Proofing Paint. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Zinsser-1-gal-WaterTite-Mold-and-Mildew-Proof-White-Oil-Based-Waterproofing-Paint-2-Pack-5001/204068078

Will this withstand foot traffic on a hardwood floor? Can polyurethane be applied on top of this on a hardwood floor to eliminate cat odors?
Asked by: Jake
Happy to clear things up, Jake! Zinsser B-I-N Advanced Shellac Based Sealer is not recommended for use on floors unless it will be tiled or carpeted over because it's not designed to withstand foot traffic.

Can you paint over this?

Asked by: Carol
Yes, Zinsser B-I-N Shellac-Based Primer and Sealer can be painted over with any top coat. This product works as a primer and a sealer to promote adhesion of the topcoat to the surface.
