How do I change the blades on this?

Asked by: Kyle
If the blades ever need changing, which I think would take years, then I would get a new one.

This tool was easy to use on scoring wallpaper before I sprayed on the gel to strip it. I used it for one room and with light pressure since I only needed to score the paper and not the wall itself. Pictures (under 3 different light conditions) show the results of the scoring teeths after use and wallpaper removal. The walls were later painted and I did find a few areas where I scored a little deep. I only needed one tool for my project and it met my expectation.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Speeds Up Wallpaper Removal The PaperTiger perforates wallpaper and thereby enhances absorption of fluid. The blades are sharp when new, although the single head does mean you need to go over the same area a couple of times to produce a well perforated paper surface. Unfortunately, the design of the PaperTiger limits how close to the trim or wall edge you can perforate. The sharpness of the blades on the wheels does decrease somewhat with use. (I used the PaperTiger for wallpaper removal in 3 rooms.) Only light pressure should be used when using the device, as the blade tips can leave signficant holes (similar to those produced by pushpins) in soft materials like drywall. The PaperTiger is easy to use, and a large wall area can be perforated in a short period. The device is, however, a little pricey for what it offers.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk I got through half of a small bathroom and the tines sheared off. Absolute cheap junk.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Pointless purchase This product works fine, but it seems cheaply made. The inner workings squeak when using like scratching a chalk board. It is also easy to use too much pressure. I noticed the small holes I was making in my drywall. I suppose it is useful when using the DIF solution, but since I was very disappointed in the DIF and changed to using my steamer the paper tiger was completely unnecessary. The steamer worked great. I could have used the money I spent on the DIF and the paper tiger to treat myself to a meal in the time I saved by using my steamer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks are deceiving This tool looks like a remnant from a ninja movie and I was skeptical, but it works. No telling how long my 3 day job removing 2 layers of kitchen wallpaper would have taken without it. Used as directed it will penetrate to the base layer of wallpaper glue. Then you brush on a detergent & water mixture to penetrate the wallpaper and then peel it off. It is still tedious and a slow process but I couldn't imagine doing it without this tool! That said, I hope never to have to remove wallpaper again, with my kudos to the guys and gals who do it for a living!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Purchase I had a single head paper tiger scoring tool before the purchase of this one. It descentegrated on me while using it. I purchased a 'Piranana' at Lowe's thier brand of a wallpaper scoring tool (it is blue in color)? Which was as far as I am concerned worthless, it did work half as well as the Zinnser PaperTiger, I only hope this recent purchase holds up better than my last purchase of a Paper Tiiger.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from cheap, only for light duty I was perferating paint and wallpaper, so it required some pressure. When it was perferating, it did a great job except the terrible sound. I went through 4 of these. Seems if you put any pressure on them, the bearings heat up and melt the clip which holds the cutters on. Luckily, I could cobble together 2 working ones from the 4 broken ones to finish my work. They are inexpensive so, the value is still fair. Make sure you buy more than one of them. I plan on returning the broken ones for a refund it possible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome! This product is easy to use. It doesn't require a lot of pressure on the wallpaper. I did circular motion and was random. When I applied the solution, and waited 10 minutes the wallpaper nearly fell right off. I didn't use commercial solution but used cheaper laundry fabric softener and mixed with water. Saved half versus a commercial wallpaper adhesive solvent.
