Spend a few more dollars and get something that actually works.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by TSM2620 How to Find a Stud with this Product: Use Nails Instead, I did!
I used the Zircon Studsensor Edge to find a stud(s) across an 18-inch section of wallboard. It either beeped like crazy or indicated a stud about every one inch. If I'd relied on the accuracy of this product, I would have had to account for a total of six studs placed about 1/8" apart when, in reality, I knew that there were no more than two (2) studs across the entire section of wall. I resorted to pounding nails into the drywall at every 1/4" and finally found the two (2) studs, both at either end of the section, and, here's the topping on the cake: in the two (2) places where the product never indicated!
I am very disappointed in this product and plan to return it today.

I wish I'd read the reviews before purchasing. I was in HD already and remembered I needed one. I pick up the only one they had in stock, this one--big mistake. Bought 9V batteries and everything. Tried it on several walls because I thought maybe it was me; watched a how-to video just to double check. Nope. This is useless.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Erik Inconsistant, unreliable,
Bought this when we first bought our house in October and my only regret is that I didn't use it in time to take it back. First time I used it I made the mistake of trusting the first reading and put a hole in the drywall with no stud behind it. Second time I made sure to double check the readings and would not get a consistent reading twice in a row most of the time. Of course both of these instances were it the thing would calibrate at all as a lot of time it would just beep because it would not calibrate. Wound up getting frustrated with it and just knocked on the wall to listen for the stud, which was more accurate than using this tool. Don't waste your time or money.

Had this for a few years now and finally tired of trying to use it. Junk that works just as well after I tossed it onto the concrete as it did before...that is to say, not at all. Half the time it will just beep at you indicating you miscalculated it somehow by using it exactly like you're supposed to. Sometimes it will detect something, sometimes it won't even in the same spot. Do not buy.

Bought this a while ago. After several attempts to find a stud I gave up. Green light is on always. There is neither a beeping nor a red light. It just does nothing.
Invest your money in a product that works. Will never buy something from Zircon again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Jimboni I got good buy on this item.
I have never used a Stud Finder before but it was time to have one in my toolbox. First time I used it, it worked like a charm. i was real easy to use, ie. user-friendly. I like the arrow, shining on the wall, when you locate the stud edge. A well made unit, I must say. By the way, I first purchased a similar model, made by a good name (Stanley) but a bad product. It was returned. It just didn't work? So,I returned this one and bought a similar model, made by the Zirchon Corp. I'm sure glad I did!
