Customer Questions & Answers

If a rat takes the bait, dies, and a dog finds him and eats him will dcon poison the dog as well?

Asked by: Ss
it's possible, depending on how much of the poison the rat ate. I had a dog pick up a dead mouse and called poison control. They said usually the pet has to eat the poison directly. Dog is fine, but be careful

How long do it take to die

Asked by: JDK
I can't tell you how long it takes a mouse to die - but I can tell you that it took about three weeks of setting out bait in my garage every other night before it got to the point where the bait stopped disappearing and I knew the mice were gone/dead. I've yet to find any mouse corpses but I suppose come spring is when I'll smell them.

Customer Reviews

Mouse Bait Station (12-Refill) is rated 1.4 out of 5 by 37.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worthless product The bait wasn't the green shown on the package it was tan. After the mice ate three entire bait blocks the droppings turned tan but I kept seeing mice until I switched to Tom Cat bait traps within three or four days sightings ended and there no more droppings. There will be no more dCON in my house. The one star rating is only so I could post this review.

I wish I had read these reviews about 3 or 4 weeks ago.I have been using this product and traps. I have caught some mice with the traps, but the d-CON does not seem to have done anything! I have been using it faithfully for at least 3 weeks and the mice just keep eating the bait and coming back! I know find green mouse dropings all along their routes! They have even started going upstairs. I read better reviews for the Tomcat poison, so I will be going to buy that at home depot tomorrow. This stuff really does not seem to work at all!

I put the bait stations in the shed, the kitchen larder, and on the deck outside the kitchen. I decided to trust d-CON and really try this - so we have a total of 22 bait stations. We have gone through at least four refill cycles - around 100 cubes in total . After all these months - I have never seen one dead mouse anywhere - and the bait is still disappearing at the same rate. No slow down at all. All I see are piles of mice turds around the stations. I just finished the last refill cycle yesterday - and this morning one of the stations already had 1/4 of a block chewed off. So what is wrong? Has d_CON lost its effectiveness with the new formula mandated by EPA and are we just feeding the mice now instead of killing them? If I don't find some evidence of effectiveness or a reasonable explanation for my experience, then I will switch to an Amazon product with a proven formulation.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not work...what a total waste of money. I wish I had read the reviews before buying these bait stations. What a total waste of money. d-con used to work flawlessly in a few days. It's been four weeks and the mice keep emptying the traps and coming back for more. The only improvement d-con made was to their profits. While waiting 15 days for the junk to work the mice keep emptying the bait station and you keep refilling it in the hope that it will work. Not!!!! Don't waste you money. It does not work...but...it is easy to fill so you can feed more mice.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Month later, mice are still coming back to eat If you are looking for a pet mouse, then I highly recommend this product. I've been using the d-CON bait for a month now and absolutely no progress has been made. I used to use the pellets, which were very effective but can not find them in any stores here in Oregon. I've spent over $20 on d-CON bait and the mice keep coming back every day. The packaging says to monitor the bait stations for 15 days I think but what are you supposed to do after 30 days? Keep wasting money? I can hear the mice in our kitchen drawer eating throughout the day. I even tried putting 4 d-CON mouse traps surrounding a piece of bait but none of the traps were triggered. Try a different product, don't waste your money.
