Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by PSnj A MUST use product to reduce sound and noise in your home.
Ordered this product to put underneath all of the new flooring products on the upper level of my Bi-level home. Installed atop the sub-floors and under the carpet padding/ carpet as well as under vinyl/ceramic tile after installing 1/4" plywood/1/4" hardi-board atop the product first. This product is amazing. It has significantly reduced both the room and foot traffic noise on the upper level. But, most importantly, has significantly reduced the foot traffic noise that previously could be heard when in the lower level. Easy installation. Highly recommend this product to use when redoing your flooring. It's amazing! The manufacture's customer service, support and assistance is excellent.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by CarGeek Good Quality, Excellent Value
I used most of a roll of this in my 2012 Subaru Impreza, on the interior and rear hatch floor, as part of a sound insulation project:
Here are the specs I measured:
0.64 lbs/sq ft
The odor is not noticeable, even after the car has baked in the sun. I disassembled the interior, separated the shaped foam backing from the carpet, and then placed the foam, underlayment (white fuzzy side up), and then the carpet, without any adhesive. The floor mats prevent the carpet from bubbling up (since the adhesive has been removed). No problems with the carpet shifting around.
The black side is fairly rough in parts, but this doesn't matter when the material is hidden.
The tire and road noise is substantially lower, and this material didn't add near as much weight as 2lb/sq ft mass loaded vinyl. Also, MLV can be $2.50/sq ft (plus shipping).
This is a fantastic substitute for heavier and more expensive MLV!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by nlt99 Good product for my purposes
I used this product to help soundproof the inside of our SUV. It seems to be very suitable for this purpose and wasn't too hard to install. It is a good, heavy sound barrier that is not too hard to cut and fit and blocks some of the road noise from coming into the interior.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Notsure Not the same stuff that I received the first time
We ordered this underlayment earlier this year and were very pleased. The rubber was thick and made a real difference in sound penetration from the floor below. It was a little tough to work with but the results were great. We decided to order a third roll and this time we were sent a thinner product that is in need of major ventilation. I triple-checked and I had ordered the same exact product. At this time I am feeling mostly confused about the product. First time it was great. Second time, not so much.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by TimothyatTheCorcoranGroup Highly Recommend for Manhattan
I have been selling Luxury Properties in Manhattan for 13 years and noise is a constant issue between floors. I found this product myself and had it installed in my apartment. I had my contractor cut it perfectly around all the nooks in my walls and moldings to fit underneath my hardwood floors. Before this my neighbors could hear everything.. after the installation my neighbors below can not hear anything at all.. I can now play my music late at night. I recommend this product to all my clients. Please note: I put two layers of underlayment down before I put the floor on top.. I never read here to do this.. I just wanted my sound barrier to be at it's maximum.. The only negative I found was the weight of the rolls. You need to be strong or need a person to help you lift them. I HIGHLY APPROVE OF THIS PRODUCT!!!

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by TenThumbs NOT the same product as before or in the picture
We used the product shown in the picture under a kitchen floor in a house with the living space below. It cut the noise substantially and provides a nice cushion. It was mass-loaded vinyl with a felt on one side.
My daughter just order two rolls and it's nothing like the earlier product. This now seems like a very thick roofing felt with recycled lint on one side. What a disappointment!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Castleview This product really does reduce sound
We recently installed this product in our home. We have an upstairs loft, and whenever someone was up there, you could hear a lot of noise downstairs underneath the loft. We replaced the carpet upstairs, but we laid the db 4looring down underneath the new carpet. We immediately noticed the difference. Now, when someone is upstairs, the sound/noise heard below is noticeably lessened.
