Love the traditional shutters! We hung two sets on each window so that we could open top and leave bottom closed for privacy. Saved thousands instead of buying custom shutters. We bought magnets and attached to the sill for a more custom look and skipped the knobs. Buying more now for more windows....

Was surprised how cheap this product looks. Had I known, I would not have ordered it. It's difficult to cut and the plastic material chips easily. Had I not cut it, I would have taken it back to the store. Will be throwing it out in the garbage. Don't waste your time and money on this product. Homedepot should not be selling this!!!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Eldon not able to accept method of width adjustment.
At the time I was ordering the shutters, I had no indication that the full width could be achieved without using all 16 of the round edged slats, 8 per inch. The shutters were not illustrated in this way and I found the the idea unacceptable in the way the shutters would look with the use of all the slats on each side.
Otherwise, I totally liked the shutters. I went back to the order page on the website to exhange them for the next size up and found that the size graduations skipped over the next size, making it impossible to install the shutters without the use of the slats, regardless of the size needed. When I called back to HomeDepot.com my call was answered promptly and I was totally satisfied with the way my order and return were handled.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by tazam0827 Cheap and Cheerful alternative to custom wood shutters
This was the only alternative I could find to expensive custom wood shutters. They look fine, as advertised. The only drawback is I would not plan on using the expansion pieces that could add up to 2 inched to the combined shutter width for an inside mount. the expansion pieces are a series of 1/8" plastic pieces that you stack to add width, but if you use more than 2 or 3 on a side, they look cheap and out of place. I added a small wood block instead that I painted to match the molding.
