Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by James Nice quality shutters. Ordered them to a specific width and they were an exact match. Kudos
I originally ordered these to go inside the window but my wife discovered she wouldn't be able to put her knick knacks with the shutters taking up the inside space. Needless to say I had to attach a wider board made of oak to secure it to the window casing (flush with the wall now). In the end it all worked out fine, they are a nice addition to the new room.

Great Product. Wished they came in more sizes to fit larger windows rather than add the spacers.

I do this for a living and these are THE most difficult things I have ever put up. The hinges should be changed to real hinges. After the hundredth time of the hinges coming apart, you may find yourself throwing them across the room !!!!!

The shutters look like what I expected. Required some time for installation but worth the effort

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Karenbythesea Easy to install and look great!
We installed these in our kitchen across several windows to give us privacy but allow light into the room. A drill and Phillips screwdriver were all the necessary tools to install on the window frame. They give an instant cottage feel to the space. Love the look.

Bought these because so many other people said these were a breeze to install. We must have received defective shutters, but after spending 30 min trying to line-up the shutters to install, we gave up.
We were in the final stages of a bathroom remodel and bought these to replace the wood shutters we had.
Just propping the shutters up to see how they looked we could not get the middle to meet straight unless tilting the outside mounting brackets unevenly, but thought maybe we didn't know what we were doing, so we gave them to our finishing carpenter with 20+ years of experience. They were a nightmare for him too! It took him well over an hour to install and he also said they just weren't crafted squarely. Either make the middle shutters meet evenly and sacrifice the side mounting bars crooked, or have a gap in the middle at the top or bottom. Granted, it was only a 1/4 gap, but I noticed it. Since it's our master bath and no guests will use, we decided to keep them.
Because my window sashes have vinyl on the inside for tilt-out windows, I could only hang these shutters as an outside mount. There are no pre-drilled holes for this option, so my carpenter had to line-up and measure for that. Also, the plastic screw covers were provided only for the inside mount. Once again, my carpenter had to drill two types of holes -- one for the screw then a larger hole so that we could use the screw covers.
Lastly, as you see in other customer's photos, the shutters do not open flat. They bend slightly open at the hinges so they constantly look open. As they always say...you get what you pay for.
