Product Overview

The new iRobot Looj Gutter Cleaning Robot features a high-velocity, four-stage auger for improved debris management. A safer way to clean your gutters, Looj reduces repeated ladder climbing and overreaching from dangerous heights. The detachable handle doubles as a remote control, giving you complete forward and reverse control of the robot. The remote can also control the spin direction of the auger so dislodged gutter debris can be tossed in the correct direction, away from your roof. Looj can also work autonomously, cleaning your gutter all on its own, by just pressing clean.

  • Simple One-Button CLEAN Mode – Just press the CLEAN button and Looj travels along your gutter on its own, sensing and adapting to debris. When Looj is done, simply double-click the reverse button and it comes all the way back to you. Looj can also operate in Manual Mode, allowing you to control its forward and reverse directions. You can also control the auger’s spin direction, so debris is propelled out of the gutter and away from your home
  • Lithium-ion battery – This battery technology equips Looj with a strong power source, giving it the power needed to handle your gutters, including tough clogs, in no time. Lithium-ion battery technology also increases the life of the battery allowing it to still run like new after long winter storage
  • Four-stage auger – The auger uses a 4-stage cleaning process to dislodge and remove gutter debris. First, the auger breaker splits apart clogs so the ejectors can then lift and throw debris from your gutters. Next, the breaker bars continue to split tougher clogs so finally, the sturdy polypropylene sweepers can brush gutters clean. Additionally, a scraper follows behind the auger to provide extra cleaning performance and make sure the path is cleared for the robot to quickly travel back
  • Safety – The Looj 330 reduces repeated ladder climbing and overreaching from dangerous heights to make gutter cleaning a safer task. Plus, the included belt clip keeps your hands free as you climb up and down the ladder and since the detachable handle doubles as a remote control, giving you complete forward and reverse control of the robot, so you only need to put your ladder in one spot
  • Remote control handle with long range – The detachable handle is also the remote control, giving you complete manual or automatic control. The new wireless controller with 2.4 GHz RF has a long communication range of 50 ft., allowing you to drive the robot further along the gutter so you can clean longer stretches of gutter without moving the ladder
  • Low profile design – More compact than previous Looj models, now at just under 2 in. high and 3 in. wide, Looj is able to fit in more gutters, including most K-style aluminum, copper, metal, or vinyl gutters
  • Waterproof design – Wet leaves are often the biggest culprit in clogged gutters. Looj is designed to operate in the wet environment of gutters, which also makes for a quick clean-up; simply spray Looj with a hose when done
  • Customizable – Looj includes 2 sizes of auger ejectors – large and small. This allows you to customize Looj to fit the type of debris that can vary by season or type of gutters found on homes
  • Accessories – Looj comes complete with a belt clip to provide hands-free carrying. The belt clip keeps your hands and legs free for safer ladder climbing. An optional storage case keeps Looj and all its parts and accessories safe and protected during storage and allows for easy handling to and from the job site (available for purchase). Additional ejector styles are also available for purchase in the Looj Accessory Kit for maximum customization of the auger. You can be ready to tackle most any gutter condition with the purchase of all additional accessories

Looj 330 Robotic Gutter Cleaner is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 39.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from It takes time to learn to use, but it works good once you do My first use I had many of the problems that many of the poor reviewers had. I tied a string to the back of it now and let if go forward. I keep tension on the string and can tell a lot about how it is performing. The string is handy to pull it back a little bit when in tougher debris, and then let it advance slowly. It saves me lots of ladder time on a side of a hill that I feel is dangerous. It's a good product once you get the handle of it. Use lithium batteries in the remote as they seem to last longest and work best.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not good as advertised I was not impressed with this product. It would flip over then start going backwards. Or it would clog up and up the ladder I had to go to retrieve and reset it. I took it back to the store for a prompt refund. It might be be good for very light work but not good for heavy-duty work.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from CAN NOT GET REPLACEMENT PARTS I have been recommending the Looj to others because it saves me from climbing a 15 foot ladder or hanging off the edge of a steep roof. But in the first season the brushes on the auger have worn out. I consider this reasonable but when I contacted iRobot to buy a replacement part, they told me I could buy an accessory kit. I do not need an accessory kit, something one usually buys with an initial purchase, I need a replacement part.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love cleaning gutters now! I tried this out to clean my gutters last night and it was GREAT! Just popped it in my very messy gutters, then I climbed back down the ladder before I started it. Just hit the clean button and watched things fly. My kids had a lot of fun just watching things flying out of the gutter as it made it's way down. After it finished cleaning, mainly because my gutters were so messy, it was a little tough to get the handle re-attached because of debris though. That wasn't a huge issue. Product suggestion: Add a solar panel to charge the battery and let me schedule this to run once a month. I'll just get one for each gutter and never think about it again. :-)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job In fairness to the Looj, my gutters were full to the brim with wet leaves and I couldn't be bothered to go back and forth with the remote to let the Looj try to tackle the job. So we tossed over the bulk of the wet mess and sent the Looj in to do backup duty, which it did a great job on. I am eager to try sending the Looj up again to see how it will do with a reasonable amount of leaves. Overall I was impressed with the battery life and speed with which it flew through the gutters (the pre-cleaned gutters). It still threw over water, leaves and pine needles.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It Just Works! This thing just works. It shipped quickly, and after a charge, I put it to test. Not being confident of it's ability to stay in the gutter, or return to me safely, I tied a string on my looj, so I could save him in case he took a suicidal plunge out of the gutter, 30 ft. to the ground. It turned out to have been for nothing, as this thing slowly drove down the gutter in automatic Clean mode, reversing periodically as it progressed down the gutter. It passed the gutter straps without a hitch. When it reached a point 3 feet from the end, (a point of a huge plugged section), it plugged away until it was gone. This was done with wet leaves from rain the previous day. This review is based on one use. But my assessment of one use, and examination of the product quality, this will be a tool I will use a couple of time per year. It will pay for itself the first year in my case as I was paying $150 per gutter cleaning. Looj is my new favorite robot!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, not great Bought this last week and was very excited to get it as I have 3 very large oak trees one on each side and on the back of my house. I had 6" K-style gutters put on 4 months ago and this was the first time cleaning them. The Looj did pretty good overall and saved me from having to climb a ladder 100x but some large drawbacks: When it hits a bunch of muck, it has a tendency to flip. Since it is on tracks, not that big of a deal right? Wrong. If it flips, forwards is backwards and vice versa. In auto clean mode, that means it starts going backwards through the areas behind it that are already clean. You have to manually send it back into the muck to try to get it to flip again. Which means you are watching it the whole time and/or manually controlling it most of the time. It needs a tip over sensor. Had a track come off 4x. It can still limp along missing a track but you have to take a ladder to that spot and get the track to put it back on. Not sure how to fix this one. When it thinks it is stuck, it turns off the ability of the remote to do anything which means you have to climb a ladder to go rescue it. I'd rather it just warn me and let me decide to figure out how to get it. I faked it out a couple of times and pulled the remote batteries so I could turn off the auger or switch directions and it would come free no problem. No spare battery - can't even buy one. My house is ~175ft of gutters and I had to charge it 4x. I really want a spare battery so I can swap them out without having to wait for the only battery to recharge. "Whiskers" are not replaceable without replacing the whole auger attachment. The blades are fine but the whiskers are bent back and are even getting caught with junk when it wraps around the auger. Handle is useless when the Looj is dirty and has junk under the attachment point. Need to rethink the small sliding area as when junk gets in there, you can't slide the handle in to attach it. In short, it saved me from having to climb the ladder 100x but honestly probably took 3x longer to do the job, and I did have to reposition and climb the ladder 8-9x to fix a problem(track came off, Looj autoshut when it was stuck, etc). I think this is a great device, has lots of promise, needs to address the above issues which I think are easily fixed, give it a little more power to clean up muck that's built up and it would be a clear winner. I'll continue to use my Looj 330, just more frequently so there's no build up that causes most of the issues above, and hope iRobot can include fixes to some of the issues above and I'll buy the next model.
