Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MBWhales My Roomba is my new best friend!
I had checked out the reviews and features on this model and wanted one specifically for picking up dog hair (and people hair), with a hepa filter for allergens. This model has exceeded my expectations by a mile! I'd buy it again in a minute.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cricket LOVE my iRobot Roomba 770
I love my Roomba! It is on my list of favorite things! Overall this is a great product. I have a large great room with wood floor. I have the timer set for 10pm. I love waking up to a clean floor! I am still amazed at how much it picks up even though I use it every night. I have lived in this house since the beginning of September. The previous owner had a white dog. The Roomba is still picking up white dog hair even though I have never seen one piece of hair other than in the Roomba.
I think it does better with short area rugs like I have in my kitchen, dining and living area. I have ran it on my thicker carpet, but I think it is quicker to run your regular vacuum which gets deeper in the carpet anyway.
I think it works best in square or rectangular spaces without a bunch of chair or table legs to go around. But it does a great job at maneuvering the chair and table legs. It just lasts longer if it doesn't have to do all that work.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Co Gal A little disappointed
I purchased this product because I work full-time and have a large home to clean on my own. I also have a couple of dogs and found myself vacuuming twice a week or more sometimes. I had high hopes for the Roomba. This model had good reviews and I thought how wonderful it would be to have help vacuuming the floors. Pros: -For a small vacuum, it picks up pretty well. -It does a good job picking up pet hair and dirt on my wood floors. -Sort of hands free (except when it get's stuck under furniture) Cons: -Every time it switched from wood floor to area rug it left a big pile of dog hair behind. -It couldn't handle my plush area rug at all. It got stuck and told me to move it. -It got stuck under furniture easily, even when I tried to use the virtual wall. -I had to empty the debris bin frequently. -It didn't transition well between different flooring.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Kole H. (the boy with a lot of Roombas) 770 VS The World
Out of my other Roombas, this one ranks #4. Wlhile my 770 which I call Iris, is a decent robot, it has a few drawbacks. It must have a clearance under furniture greater than or equal to 3.6 inches. It seems random compared to other robot vacs such as my Neato Botvac which maps the room. It also makes its way around by bumping into things. It could also use a stronger motor. It's a great vac, but it can't replace your upright. Now on to the pros. It has a potent cleaning system. The brushes pull up the carpet to a fluff, and clean reasonably deep into the carpet, and it cleans amazingly on hardwoods. One problem iRobot has addressed is the fact that the brushes are approximately 98mm away from a wall's edge. They fixed this with the fast spinning fiber optic sweeper arm which shoves dirt in front of it. Now for my tests. I vacuumed with my Shark and dumped the bin onto the floor and spread it out. The dirt detect feature sensed it and cleaned all of it. Another test I have performed is pouring a few steel BBs on the hardwood and it picked up all of them. I have more tests planned later. The maintenance on the Roomba (as with all of them) is relatively easy. Cleaning the whole machine is really easy (for me, at least). Putting it together is foolproof, right down to swapping wheel motors. Overall, great vac, easy to use and maintain, but, like all Roombas, it can't replace your upright.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lee Best thing I have bought in a long while
I am more than pleased with my iRobot. It does everything I want and then some. I am amazed at what it is picking up, even a wire twist tie. It spent a while under my bed and found a nail polish, a fridge magnet ( from my grandson) and a lost phone charger! I locked it in a room and let it play away for a while and found him in a walk in closet. He gets into every space. He is so easy to use, clean, recharge. I find myself just watching him rather than TV! Notice he's a male, just because. have a large dog, a cat and 2 messy birds, all who sleep inside on carpet and their room has never looked cleaner. I come home from work and just set him in a room for 30 minutes and enjoy the easily cleaned floors. It has given me a greater sense of joy in my home already.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Scott P Gets It Done
I have many responsibilities, leaving me little time for cleaning. I looked for this to reduce my cleaning load, and it has done so to my satisfactionl. I do a couple of rooms at a time; either carry or navigate to the room in question, set down a virtual wall or two, then turn it loose while I work on something else. The first time I used it, I had to clean out the bin halfway through the room because it picked up so much cat hair. After that, it is usually full around the time it finishes. I have a lot of area rugs, some with fringe. It does an excellent job of cleaning both the rugs and the hard surfaces. I have have never had an issue with fringe or power cords getting pulled in, something I can't claim about my upright vacuum. It's worst performance is along the borders between area rugs and hard floors. The rugs are thick enough that there is a narrow gap on the hard floor where the suction is insufficient to get it all due to the elevated hight of one side of the Roomba. Sometimes it cleans it well anyway because the little corner brush will sometimes fling the bits of hair or debris away from this gap so it can be picked up somewhere else. But it sometimes misses these. When it does, I ignore it, and it will often catch it the next time I sweep. It actually does better than my Hoover along baseboards and under furniture. I would use the attachments to manually get at those areas. But due to the difficulty of reaching them, I typically did a poor job of getting them clean. The Roomba actually does far better than I ever did on these areas. And I was scared to look under the bed and some other furniture for what I might find. But the Roomba attacked them fearlessly, and cleaned it all right up. I am very happy with it. I then turned it loose, with some trepidation, on my filthy screened-in porch. Now, it looks better than it has since I spent three hours cleaning it up a couple of years ago.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Frank Blourtango I'm very impressed
I tried out the 770 just to see if it could at least do the carpet in my office. I spend most of my time there and make a mess on the dark brown carpet. I have four cats so this robot had it's work set out for it. I was so impressed that I expanded it's range to all but my junk room upstairs. I'm considering getting and 880 for the downstairs. For the cons, I really shouldn't say that the bin size is too small. Since you can set the Roomba to run every day, you should just have a 'maintenance' amount of debris in the bin. If the place is particularly messy for whatever reason, I think common sense would tell you to knock down the worst of it with your regular vacuum.

Best thing I bought when I was to ill to do any housework. Can get caught up if you leave cords lying around but no problem with floor length curtains or bedspreads.
