My negativity stems from three main issues: the mounting design, the lack of dimming, and the fact that half the units were DOA.
The mounting is all performed from the front; there are two flimsy screws that go through holes in the base body and screw directly into the drywall. The hole is fairly small, limiting the screwdriver selection considerably. I stripped the head on one screw before resorting to a bigger screwdriver that was tight to the sides of the hole. You must also take care to not pinch the wires coming off the unit. The mounting system really appears to be designed for the hard-wired option and the cord-and-plug unit is an afterthought. The end result is a wobbly connection to the wall. A design with a mounting plate in the back that mates with the unit would be much better.
Two lights above our king-size bed provide adequate light for the room when turned up. Great for making the bed, not so great for reading at night. Dimming and multi-light control would be much nicer, but it isn't supported directly.
I purchased four units, and only two functioned. Had to pay to ship them back to Home Depot or go into the store. If I wanted replacements, I would need to submit another order.
-The power supply has a light on it, so don't plan on concealing it near the fixture.
-The power cable has an intermediate adapter, which appears to be part of the hard-wire kit. Sloppy.
-The switch seems flimsy, and I don't expect it to have a long life.
-The light head runs fairly hot. Not burning hot, just hot to the touch.
Pros: I like the light output and color when turned towards the ceiling.
